The Bougan Rig
Yeah, it's legal in Arizona, but one hook would work which is simply a dropshot rig!

The Bougan Rig
Oh and I've been using it with pretty good success!

The Bougan Rig
Found out what it is! 15-30 pound braid on a spinning reel with a 10 pound flourocarbon leader tied on to a swivel. Use two hooks one 2 & 1/2 feet above the weight and one 6" above the weight, tied on with a palomar knot. Then put a drop shot weight on the end. Can be casted out or just hung over the side of the boat! I heard the name was made up as kind of a joke at a local tackle shop. Anyway thought I would let you guys know if anyone was still interested.

Josh, First let me apologize for my outburst. I didn't mean to offend you in any way. I've lurked on this site for some time, and found it to be quite informative and very polite, therefore I was a bit surprised by your answer. I first heard of this rig from an Arizona fishing report site in the Arizona Republic, as follows, http://www.azcentral...fishreport.html What you posted on this forum sounded like an exact regurgitation of this description which is what I found in the first place. I live 15 minutes from Lake Pleasant ( the lake in question in the report), so naturally I wanted to learn all I could about this rig. Needless to say I was quite frustrated when I saw google it! Trust me I already had Googled it and found nothing. I also posed the question on a very informative and sometimes not so polite forum in Arizona. If these guys don't know, I knew it was going to be a tough question. Again, I apologize, I didn't mean to get into a hissing match with you. I think it's great that you have this hobby (fishing), it's healthy and fun and may keep you away from the temptations of your peers. Keep it up!

The Bougan Rig
I just noticed your age on your posts, which might explain some things. I was able to glean all of the info you had from the net as well. It truly doesn't answer the question. Anyone else care to venture an educated guess to this question?

The Bougan Rig
That's not making sense to me. Is it a spoon tied 2 feet up the line with a weight at the terminal end. Kind of like a drop shot? Or is it a hook tied like a drop shot with a spoon at the end? Do you have a pic of one?

The Bougan Rig
I did, the technique didn't come up for me. Can you give me the URL since you located something I was unable to find?

Has anyone heard of this rig. How is it tied and how is it fished? I've only heard of it regarding stripers! Any help is appreciated!

Lake Pleasant, Arizona
What's the scoop on Lake Pleasant, Arizona? Best Lure? Best spot? Best time? I've been fishing it as time permits and can only do a small amount of catching. Any suggestions? Also suggestions on night fishing there would be appreciated. LC
