If your fishing clear water, I don't think braid is the way to go. I think it will show up more than mono or floro. I think a bunch of bass just bite a senko you know, to kill it and don't really eat it. Sometimes, you can throw back and let them take it a little longer then give them the business! mIke

Anyone on this board familiar with California lakes? I will be spending a week there on family vacation. I want to take my son fishing at some of the good bass lakes. I don't know where to begin, we be flying into San Jose and driving from there. What lures to take? Are there any cheap boat rentals on smaller lakes? Any suggestion? thanks in advance... Mike

I'm heading to California for family vacation. I will be arriving in San Jose on 23rd of July. Staying a week. I need to know where I go Bass fishing. I will be limited to bank fishing mostly. But would consider renting a small boat for me and my son if there is any reasonable. What about the Delta? where is it located? any small lakes where I can take my son? I am going to Yosemite too, are there any fish there? I have heard of some of the southern lakes like Castaic, Casitas, Dixon. I will be renting a car and can drive basically anywhere time allows.
