I went today and got the humminbird fishing buddy 120 and tested it out on the lake today. Im completely new to the fish finder game so i have a few questions. What portion of the transducer is actualy used for the side finder? I figured that when i pointed the back of the unit (where the wires are) that it would be pointing straight out so that the screen could be pointed straight at me, But i wasn't sure. Also when i see fish on the screen (not side finder) how do i know where they are in relation to me? Im in a float tube and the unit is placed like 2 feet in front of me and like 1 1/2ft to to the left of my feet. Are they directly under me? Are the fish on the right of the screen down and to the right? I just dont know. So how do i learn? -Sorry for so many questions :-[ Marcus

Ill admit it...now im looking at the 130 model with the side finder

Anyone have experince or comments on this portable fish finder?? Im going to mount it to the 1" tubing on my pontoon float tube. I need to find the deep water structure that these bass are hanging out in because i am tired of just bangin the banks. Any other suggestions would be great as well. Thanks, Marcus

2 biggest fish i have pulled in this year were both around 2:45 and 3 o'clock.

First post!!!!! Anyways i am Fishing out of a kick boat on a relatively small lake. I have had great luck fishing the banks and visual cover. I rarely catch small fish. Mostly 15-17 inch bass with 2 fish reaching 21 and 23 inches. I just got a scale so i can now record wt. There are some times when there are no fish on the banks to be found. I will stop fishing the bank and go out to the deep water but im just ticking in the wind. My problem is that i dont have a topo map and i cant hook any electronics to my kick boat. Im pretty sure im SOL but i figured that i would ask anyways. -Thanks, Marcus
