  1. I would pack some 5" senkos, they are working very good for me just over the border in New Brunswick Canada. I expect that maine is like new brunswick when it comes to water clarity, some areas are clear but some are very dark and staind. A Heddon torpedo wouldnt hurt eather. What part of maine will you fishing?
  2. 1st I will entroduce myself. My name is Nate and I live in New Brunswick Canada. I have been lurking on this site for a few weeks now and just recently joined. I have been fishing eversince i was a kid but just recently become more than just an occasional fisherman after a buddy and I bought kayaks this spring. After yrs of fishing chain pickeral and brook trout and occasionally hooking a bass, I decided it was time to really target those bronzebacks. Throughout the spring and 1st half of the summer i was using all hardbaits like crankbaits inline spinners etc with limited success! So i went searching online and found this great site. I soon realized that the best way to catch smallies consistantly would be to learn how to use soft plastics. It wasnt long and it sounded like using a senko would be a great soft lure to start with. So I bought a few packs of senkos from a local tackleshop and the rest is history i guess. I have landed almost as many bass in the last 3 outings with a much larger length and wieght per bass than I have the rest of the summer. My next purchase will be a depth finder to help locate structure , but even without the electronics I have been doing very well. I got to say thanks to this great site and its great members, I have learnt a lot in the past 2 weeks. It really seems like its a place that people care about chatting about fishingt and not a bunch of B$. Thanks again!!!! I hope to have some pictures in a couple days of some of the eastern Canadian smallies we have been catching in our kayaks!! stay tuned
