Just curious, cause I was starting on something too...why cedar over balsa?

Thanks for the advice, here's the things I have been working on.

Ok....all you swim bait guys. I have had enough of you all having all the fun of making these things, so I want to give it a go. I'm heading out now to buy the wood. Do you all freehand the shape? Or is there a website I can get the pattern off of? After seeing all of these swimbaits being made here, it got my creative juices flowing and I really want to give this a whirl. I have been making spinner baits as of late, which I would gladly share if I could figure out how to resize them so I can post them. :-[

I have to say...I am really impressed. This looks like alot of fun to do. If you don't mind I have a few questions, such as where do you get the foil you put on it, what type of wood do you use, but I think my biggest question is...what type of fish are you going for with this type of lure? If I ask to many newbie questions....just slap me. ;D But I am really interested, I would like to take a whirl at one of these myself.
