  1. So I bought a soft bait mouse early this afternoon...It is grey, has whiskers, a tail, and its weighted. I cast in and it looks really sexy, but couldn't get any interest. It was a tough day of fishing anyway, but any ideas on how I should work this mouse? I can reel it back in slowly and it looks delicious, or I can reel-pause-reel like a worm. What do you think is gonna work for using such an apparatus?
  2. So I heard through the grapevine that bass will eat mice. Are mice a delicacy- will bass devour them? If so, do they make a mouse bait...or is a live mouse the only option...
  3. sweet one...need to go up to 10 lbs. any ideas for brands?
  4. I hooked a school bus size largemouth down on the river bank earlier this evening and I wish I had a way to measure its weight. What kind of devices are handy to bring out to the water to measure lbs.?
  5. too heavy line + the wrong rod
  6. ...went to the feed and seed this morning, got me a 6' medium casting rod and some 6 lbs. test line. My casts are like butter. I had a blast this morning reeling in huge smallmouths. They just love these joe's flies spinners. Thank you all for your help!

  9. I need some equipment setup ideas so that i can send a size 8 Joe's fly spinner with a couple of split shot weights at least 30-40 ft from the shore. My reel/rod combination currently will only send it a mere 15 feet. I need more distance to get to the middle of the river. More weights added onto the line result in the spinner catching the bottom of the river. Will a proper line/reel/rod setup work better? Any ideas? My current setup: 6'6" berkeley cherrywood rod (the eyes are small in diameter) - shimano tx2000 fa spinning reel - 10lb test line - joe's flies - split shot weights
  10. question: what is a good rod/reel combination that will send a spinner a good 40ft from the shore?
