I thought a Medium/Medium Heavy with a Fast tip would be ideal, from what i've been reading on the different posts...would i lean more towards a HEAVY rod? Can someone explain why a worm/jig rod would be the more expensive of all your rods?

Ok so i've been researching and i think i'm going to go ahead and get the Shimano Curado...i am not sure which rod to pick with it, i've heard of St. Croix, Okuma, All Pro, Falcon...it will mostly be used for jig and worm fishing...i want to spend around $100, but for sure no more than $175...what do you guys recommend?

would this one pretty much work in any lake or what? i'm new to bass fishing and hear you guys say you have to "match the hatch" but don't pretty much all lakes have bluegill?

would the chartreuse shad be better for murky or stained water then?

Ok so i've been reading all day and I'm gonna go pick up one of each of these tomorrow...lol, can only afford two for now...anyway...now i am reading that american shad and chartreuse shad are doing well for quite a few of you, i want to get one sammy and one moonsault, how do i know which color to pick for each one? I'll be fishing Lake Arlington here in TX which is semi clear, slightly murky water...thanks in advance...

honestly how many lures do you guys have? I have maybe 15 and none of them have ever caught me fish...thinking about chunking them and starting all over...

WOW, i'm gonna have to google these lures, the only one i recognized was the rapala...does anyone know where I could read up on the retrieval methods for the different kinds of lures?

Ok first time posting, brand new here so please bear with me. I fish mostly cats and carp myself so i'm new to bass fishing. I was out at lake arlington and was fishing in about 5-10 feet of water, no cover, just open water. There were fish jumping all over the place, and minnows/shad jumping out of the water...i decided to throw a couple of lures out there to see if i got anything and nothing. I only had a rattletrap and a spoon...what would have been the ideal lure to throw out there when the shad are jumping and the fish are feeding off the top of the water?
