The copper content in Alkaline Copper Quaternary (ACQ) used in modern pressure treated woods is significantly greater, (2-3x), than in previous generations of treated wood were Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA) was used.
Aluminum is very susceptible to galvanic corrosion when in contact with copper.
The boost in copper used in ACQ simply increases the rate of galvanic corrosion.
