  2. Shoal bass that are one of the five species of black bass. Particular to the Chatahoochee River and its tributaries. As mainly a river species, I have found it rather aggressive almost year-round, by the same token, 5-7 pounds is the best you will see.
  3. Hello all. I have been bass fishing for many years, but I spend most of my time on the Hooch catching shoalies. I split my time fly fishing (hope that is not a bad word around here) for bass and smallies in NC as well on lakes and rivers. More than happy to give bass hooch updates if anyone is interested. I wade, fish from a Malibu miniX kayak and I have a custom guide canoe with a motor. This past year I have become a big fan of swimbaits that have caught many a hooch striper in '08, but beavers, jigs and rapalas will always catch the shoalie.
