Was This A Good Buy
If mono is packaged there shouldn't be a problem. I have mono years old in my hot Florida garage and it's still fine. I have friend brought spools down from Long Island 20 years ago and is still using it.

Why Baitcasters Are Better Than Spinning Setups: Fatigue
The argument is irrelevant. First off one needs to qualify what kind of ocean fishing. Fishing for many inshore species the gear being used isn't heavy, no more tiring than bass gear, not every fish is going to be a 30 minute fight, that's rare. I don't think day in and day out it's any more tiring than bass fishing, now and then you will get that fish that wacks you out. Offshore is total different, even catching 3-4# yellowtail from 100' with 2-4 oz of lead is tiring, even more so with 50 or 100#+ species. Don't know if anyone has experienced this, I have many times, is having a fish on the line where you can't even turn the crank of the reel, that is until you tire the fish out. That's when you learn how to pull up and reel down, tired after an hour of that, HAHA ........you bet. Whether it's spinning or b/c people get tired from using muscles they aren't used to using. Do you think a pro fisherman gets tired, or a pro golfer hitting hundreds of balls a day both before and after a competitive round, It's their job and they make sure they are in shape. Getting tired from drop shotting is a result of having your fishing muscles not in condition, do it every day and you won't get tired. To those that have physical handicaps, all you can do is just make the best of it, it isn't your livelyhood. I get no more tired fishing inshore as I do for bass when catching the average fish, as I do it everyday.

Why Baitcasters Are Better Than Spinning Setups: Fatigue
I think you have raised two different issues, offshore in the ocean is it's entity IMO has very little in common with bass fishing. I fish both fresh and salt but way more saltwater. Off shore saltwater can be done easily with spinning or conventional. For the most part when fishing offshore drifting or trolling is done, as long as the right size rod is being used either type of reel is fine, many spinning reels 4000-8000 have 30# of drag, my Penn 7000 has 32# and holds 300 yds of line. Quite true conventional reels have more line capacity and in some cases that is advantage but for the most part 200-300 yds is good. Commercial fishermen down here don't use rods down here, they hand jig and use a winch to pull up the fish. Use whatever your preference is for freshwater or inshore salt, mine is spinning.

Saftey First
Been in many facilities like that one but it did bring back memories. We had hilos, bobcats, jacks and all kinds of material handling equipment in the company I worked for before heading out on my own. Earlier 70's inner city buildings no one had a fork lift license or really any training, no hard hats and not much in the way of safety. We had a hilo driver, never saw a better one any where ever, he was fantastic drunk and even better sober which was rare. Sammy (Kent) would break in the building in the middle of the night to work his drunk off by loading semis. In those days the alarms were foil on the windows, he just took the bricks out of the wall crawled in, lol. Being an alcoholic he had pint bottles of Kesslers stashed everywhere, we found them and pissssed in them, he never knew the difference. We had a truck driver named Cliff, as he was paid in cash no knew his last name, his phone number was scribbled on a Playboy centerfold in the shipping office, he fondly was referred to as Cliff on the titte. As slipshod as this sounds this was a 1 owner company started in the 1930's doing 8 figures a year.

Help Me End An Argument!
Funk and Wagenalls or a hard back dictionary may no longer be in vogue, but a google search would have yielded the answer quicker than it took to make the opening post.

Buying Used Equipment Vs. Buying New
Buy new, it's returnable and exchangeable if there is a problem, may be out of warranty time as well.

Fish Attractants
There would be no point in using it if it didn't work. If it does attract strikes then fishing has become easier and less challenging. This morning I just wanted to put a bend in my rod, used live bait for the first time in about 2 years. It took longer to catch a bait than it did to catch a 30" fish, no question about it.......I didn't challenge myself today.

Bucktails
Stripers are no different than snook and tarpon, I fish all them exactly the same way with the same lures. Most bucktails I use are 1/2 and 3/4 oz. My jig heads for flukes are always 1/4 oz, I don't deviate from that. My preference is DOA 5 1/2" jerk shads, pearl with a red tail and I use either Strike King redfish jig heads or DOA jig heads. In a pinch I will use a zoom fluke both regular and magnum on a Walmart plain 1/4 oz lead head. In all honesty I catch as many fish on the Walmart and Zoom set up. IMO stripers, snook and tarpon are easy fish to catch when they are on, when they are off they won't hit any lure.

Making It Your Own
I won't say I tweek lures, but I do make some of my own. I have experimented with different styles and materials. I do not feel my strike ratio is any different but I have designs that are more durable now.
-
Fish Attractants
I do believe they do work, that's exactly why I don't use them. I fish bass for enjoyment and challenge.

Reel Handle
There is truth to this. I have an Abu soron 20, I replaced the handle with a 40 which was a perfect fit. I believe I have more leverage or cranking power plus I like the feel of the reel better. At one time this was a saltwater reel but I use for bass now.

Minnesota Pike Fishing Set Up
I agree. When people hear the word muskie or pike they get intimidated, that's the fist mistake before the first cast is made. Whether it's a b/c or spinning set up med hvy rod is ample for the majority of 10-15# fish. I'd probably use 20# braid and about 12" piano wire or surflon as my leader. I don't think it needs any more involvement than that. I fished pike for many years, I don't have them here but I fish barracuda now. I do make lures using wire, but when I'm casting spoons or lures I just a mono leader.

Old People
If I were Sigmund Freud I might think the OP had an underlying problem disrespecting seniors and their medical maladies. But I do realize it was an attempt at levity, the keyword being ATTEMPT. Young or old I don't see much about having to a crap as being all that noteworthy.

Power Pro?
Sure I've been spooled and more than once, never know down here what's going to strike. Between rocks, coral, cement pylons covered with barnacles, jagged sea walls, gill plates and fish getting wrapped around engines and trim tabs, I do go thru a lot of line. I highly doubt the brand of braid would make a difference.

Starting A Talkle Store
I don't know much about retail, in fact I know nothing about it except I don't care for any venture that I'm waiting for some one to walk thru the door. I do know about owning a business, I had as many as 4 businesses running at the same time. One bit of advice I would give, learn a business before you invest any money.

Is Power Pro Super Slick 8 Worth The Extra Money Over Power Pro? And What Poundage Line For My Spinning Reels?
What I do like about the Super Slick is wind knots pull thru much easier. I have 10# on 1 reel and works just fine. As with most of my bass fishing I cast to a specific area, distance is not a paramount concern. I'm not too crazy about the price, I'm pretty content with my other brands.

Homeland Security Virus
I've never seen anything quite like that before. One thing I do think is true is that computer usage is monitored and certain "catch words or phases" are red flagged. Some years ago a person from New Jersey was making comments on the net, he was flagged and visited by the FBI, this was before 9/11. He was a minor and making school threats.

Power Pro?
Digging in, that only amplifies my reasoning for using spinning gear with lighter braided lines. There are a number of people that do use a braided line less than 40# on a b/c that don't seem to have that digging in problem. The tarpon reference is only to indicate that a fairly light braided line is strong enough to handle a fish that is larger than a bass. If one feels they need to winch a 5 or 6# fish in with a line that breaks about 80# with a locked down drag, so be it. I can't personally address this digging in issue as I only use spinning gear, to me it sounds like an excuse to overpower a fish.

Braid Fishing Line
Not a bad line at all. I get quite a few wind knots when I fish fresh water, hardly ever when I fish salt. I can't prove it but I think this is the difference. I have seen videos where the line hits the first guide causing a wind knot. Fishing salt water I generally throw a heavier lure, I think it keeps the line straighter coming off the spool.

Braid Fishing Line
Smooth and wind knots are not related.

Power Pro?
Really ? I use outdated 10- 15 and 20# PP, works just fine on 40# tarpon. I do catch an occasional 8# bass, using the same 15PP for them.

I Need A Fishing Trip
Not that lodge but fished out of Bud N Marys' quite a few times. Own a time share at the Villa del Palmar, fished and golfed there many times. First night in town I had chickens crawling under my table while I was having dinner at the Giggling Marlin, lol. I fished out of one of the old wood Pangas, that was neat. The old airport was like a bombed out building in Beirut, with livestock wandering thru it. We usually gravitate to San Jose, bit more laid back, La Paz is another excellent fishing location. Both my wife and I prefer PV, more to do, my best fishing trip ever was in Bandaras Bay. The Rhythm of the Night cruise was an experience like no other, we loved it. We have quite few trips logged into that part of the world over the last 20 years. Great memories of those places, but time for another adventure. If it were me alone I'd be going to Xcalak. This is me having a corona at the marina in PV.
