Reelfoot Lake HELP
The lake gets pretty veg'd up by summer. Bream and catfish will be biting. Bass on rats spinner baits and JignPig. The crappie bite will be slow but, they always seem to be somewhere. I'd get a guide and ask them to put you and the kids on anything and everything. This is a scarely lake. Shallow, full of stumps and easy to get disorientated on. Get a map or a chip. Ask the Resort if Mr Parker is still guiding. Also, ask them if Mrs. Calhoun can show you around her late husband's boat shop. Home of the famous reelfoot boat.

Talquin March 2009
Yep. As I thought Planning on flats by channels and also some creek backs. Plastic kinda guy and was thinking 7-10 blkblu, redshad, watermelon type colors. Will toss lipless in shad, blu/white, and a sort of chartr shad. If the water has a bit of clear would love to throw some jerk baits. Up here in clear water the storm 4" crappie rocks. I was wondering if its to stained for swimbaits. Still hopeful to get the boat out,,if I can find open water!!!! Most likly drag it to the Illinois river just to crank it up. Truth is, My wife and I just want WARMER! Last year we cancelled Arkansas because it flooded. So we didn't do an early spring "warm" fishing trip. Picked Talquin because for years it sort of beckoned to me. Don't know why,, maybe stripers, bass and crappie,, but anyway REALLY looking forward to,, well,, about 5 weeks from now thanks

Greetings,
Greetings. And thanks for adding me to the forum. Northern Midwest Evinrude: own a 1947 (bought new by my father), 1958 and 1961, sold my 70s, 80s with the boats, and still own a 2001. My 1991 175 Spitfire had 3500 hours on it! E-Tec since 2007 Sea Nymphs since 1980 Rangers since 1991 Bought my first real fishing gear when I was a little kid. Currently use Shimano rods and Abu Garcia & Diawa baitcasters. Mixed bag of Spinning, walleye and crappie gear Blessed to have 7 wild acres and a home on a gin clear deep water lake full of Pike & Largemouth. Also fish all the local lakes and rivers in the area for a mixed bag of smallmouth, white bass, catfish, panfish and walleye. We're pretty much water people. Swim, ski, pontoon, jon boat, bass boat, old runabout. Fish at least 2-3 times a week from March into December. I DON'T ICE FISH! Take a couple of weeks a year on fishing trips. Don't fish in tournaments. Never have. Consider myself a pretty good deep water fisherman with finesse, jigNpig, texas rigged plastics. Been doing a lot of slow wacky senko type stuff and double deep cranking lately in clear water. Pitch quite a bit but don't do much flippin,, waters to clear and there is limited shore cover. I feel out of place on stained or muddy water. Therefore not much for spinnerbaits. More of a deep then shallow guy. I always feel that for as much as I fish,, I should be better/luckier. Still got to work a day job as I pay for weddings and college. Play piano and organ in a rock band on the weekends.

Talquin in March
Heading down from the frigid north (-25 last week) for the full moon of March. Got the chip,, got the map,, got a place to stay and to launch. Any information on usual spawn phase that time of year, and all the other good stuff would be appreciated.
