  1. Grew up fishing and Hunting In Cannelton Indiana (man I miss all the lakes and the Ohio and the big deer) Now I live in Salem, Virginia. Beautiful lake here, just not as many options. And Hunting in the mountains is a hell of alot harder than hunting the corn and bean fields of Indiana.
  2. LOL!!!! Pamela Lee Fish or Hunt
  3. I agree with the above, I used to fish the Ohio alot. The key is to find current breaks. Any and all! Current , current, current. Bass don't like it- well they don't like to fight it, they like it because it brings them easy meals, and more oxygen, but they don't like to be directly in it. If you find rocks on the bottom or laydowns on the banks, and you have a swift current throw past the structure and let the bait swim past it. That presents a more natural presentation. Don't overlook the smallest current breaks either! Good Luck
  4. Colorado lake or river
  5. Laydowns Ranger or Triton
  6. If you asked me this 15 yrs ago when I was fishing the back waters of the Ohio River in Indiana, I would have said solid 7. Now that I live in Virginia and am fishing mainly a mountain lake reservoir, I would say 5, maybe, on a consistant basis, but getting better. This is why I have so much respect for the pro guys. I think it is incredibly difficult to go to different lakes, with different climates and water and catch fish consistently. But there is one thing for sure, I am a very determined person and once I make my mind up to do something, then fish lookout. Always striving for that 10.
  7. I ended up fishing it by myself. Started off, yanking a brush hog out of ones mouth. Got to excited I guess, I saw him go for it and I reared back a little to soon. Then I broke one off at a dock about 30 min. later, then I lost one at the boat. I couldn't get to the net, so I let him play himself out, then when I reached down to bring him in he shook off. Then I had one follow my brush hog to the boat after I started reeling in to fast after I fished around the boat dock. Need to sloooooooowwwww dowwwwwwn. I deceided after all that, I wasn't supposed to catch any that night. Anyway 13 something won it. Which surprised me, because some big boys were there. Dale Wilson was there, actually I think he won. Didn't stick around after the night I had. He usually catches in the 19-20lb range.
  8. Well here is my 2 cents. I fish SML regularly. If I'm fishing plastics: Usually Zoom Brush Hog I'll go with pumpkinseed, watermelon, or red/black flake. Worms pretty much same colors, I do like the redshad for worms. Crankbaits: Shad colors work, I also like the yellow black at night. You for sure need to go deep now to get most of the bass unless you find some good docks or at night when the shad move up. Maybe fivebasslimit can add to this. He fishes pretty regularly to. I think he's been haveing some good luck. Good Luck!
  9. I don't know about most of you guys, but when I first started fishing, and I mean really fishing it was all from the bank (shore). Couldn't afford a boat when I was 12 yrs old. One thing I know about bank fishing, that I need to do more of now, is that if forces you to slow down and work areas longer and try different baits. Bank fishing is where I got my start. I used to get my mom to drive me to the town reservoir and drop me off after supper and then she would come pick me up at dark. Man those were the good old days!
  10. That's the beauty of this site. Great idea KU!
  11. I try and do it every day I'm not fishing, have even done it in the rain! Crazy, maybe. Obsessed, for sure! Luckily my neighbor that can see me also is a fisherman and my other neighbor can't see me. Wouldn't care if he could though.
  12. I would go with lake C - Shore fishing only, sounds right, if you can walk the entire lake. Lake A might be a possibility if you check the water level. My experience is, and I fish a resivor myself which water level can change alot, if water level is down it screws up the fishing big time. Lake B - to many unknowns especially the bank fishing. Just my opinion.
  13. Largemouth - 5.5 lbs on xrap in April
  14. This past Tuesday evening I had a nice, bass follow my buzzbait to the boat. Saw him cruising right behind it for a while. It was close to dark. What does that tell you? He was interested just not enough to hit it?
  15. I too, am not a big reader except anything I can about fishing. The book is really good, and I think after a person reads it, you will be able to relate to his antics a little better. Personally, I like the dude, I believe he really wants the sport to grow and he can fish. I def. have more respect for these pro's and what they go through to do what they love. Good book, read it in three days. That's saying something for me.
