  1. Once I guthooked a pig lm, cut the line down as far as I could, and released him back to the water bleeding bad. I figured he was def. a floater. About 15 minutes later I caught the same fish with my 4/0 still down his throat. So I am pretty sure bass get right back to striking or eating after a release.
  2. The way the world is today, I don't blame u one bit. Better to be safe, then sorry.
  3. It would have to be muskie for sure. But I really want to catch a big snakehead.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Although I gave the gulp crap a whirl for a little bit, its mostly for the wife's use, so I don't have to run and get live bait on a short notice. But, I have to admit it does catch fish, but like u said, nothing big. Have yet to try the craws, but I'm sure I'll be buying soon.

Tubes are one of my go to baits. The only downfall to a tube is how bass usually with suck them down pretty far when there rigged with a jighead, which makes for a bad gut hook.
  6. Screw spring, get out there now. nice smallie
  7. When it comes to smallies, I like using the lightest tackle possible. 4lb flouro on a 9ft noodle rod makes for some real fun. And as long as my drag is set just right, I rarely have breakoffs. Unfortunatly, the only baits I can use on such a setup are smaller plastics, like tubes, texas rig craws, etc.
  8. I think just about the hole northern side of the US are looking foward to the upcoming warmer temps. Unfortuntaly my area is so locked up with ice, that a couple of days in the 50's ain't really going to do much. Hopefully it starts to open up some largemouth territory.
  9. You have 2 options in the winter. First is a warm water discharge, which technically wouldn't be considered true winter fishing. And, second, find a wintering hole, and jig it. Put some basic jigs in their face and they'll hit it, no matter how cold it is. I have alot of sucess with the basic jig and pig, with a very slow presentation. Find the fish, and put in some time. Some of the biggest, and fattest fish are caught this time of year.
  10. Newbie to this site for southeast Pa. In short, I'm a total phanatical fishing retard. I live, dream and eat fish. Most of my fishing is done in some local rivers for just about every species that swims. I just recently got into making some of my own custom bass jigs. Looking foward to a future hear at bass resource.
  11. mike, newbie to the site. I live in norristown, a suburb of Philadelphia. Most of my fishing is done at the Schyukill river, and some local lakes, and ponds in the area.
