Well it definitely doesn't plane! It does however beat the 3hp Johnson I had on there. Thanks for your help! Would anyone happen to know what spark plugs this thing takes? The champion website lists the plugs as RJ8C. Anyone know for sure? I don't want to ruin my 'new' motor!

Hey folks, just scored a 1969 Evinrude 6hp fisherman motor to replace my 3hp. Was wondering if the 6hp will plane the boat with 2 people?

I would mix some baking soda and water together and pour it onto the area you think the acid got onto. If there was still acid there it will bubble up and the baking soda will neutralize it.

I have the transducer for mine mounted on my trolling motor. I spent 4 bucks at ACE hardware and bought a hoseclamp to clamp it on with. Works great.
