I don't know if you have one close, but Cabelas has a nice sale on XML rods right now. $130 dollar rods for $30-40.

Which Lake? I'm guess Lake Mendota. I've lived in Madison all my life and just started fishing these lakes last year LOL. I caught some nice smallies on Mendota last summer.

Nice fish for up here in Wisconsin. I caught my first 5lb this spring, also on a *** beaver (watermelon/red flake). Hope you catch many more

In WI it's $20 /yr for inland lakes, that doesn't include trout stamp, and Great Lakes. Can't remember what those are off the top of my head.

By Gander, do you mean Gander Mountain? I didn't know they carried carrot stix. I just checked online and they don't have them listed. I might have to drive down to my local Gander Mountain and check it out.
