the water temp was 60-61 in the river around the islands in the river on saturday, the water temp was 64-66 at the mouth of the st.lawerance and lake ontario then on sunday then on monday the water temp was 63-64 in the shallow bays around clayton. i was able to catch a lot of fish (all smallies) but they were all 2-2.5 lbs. seen a few giant smallies follow jerkbaits but they were not interested in biting except one which was over 4lbs. i thought the fishing was alittle tough, the fish were really shallow some on beds and some satrting to move a little deeper.

hi, i was hoping to head to 1000 islands to fish the u.s side of the st.lawerance river sat june 20th near the mouth of lake ontario did i read correctly that was opening day for bass on the st lawerance river? any tips or ideas on where i should start looking for smallies/or largies thanks in advance

thanks for the help! soo i can fish on the u.s water side of the river June 20th as long as i have licenses? Is it mostly smallmouth or is it worth trying to fish largemouth Thanks

Hey, I was thinking about heading to the 1000 islands on the opener in June and just hoping to get some tips on where i should start looking for bass i havent done too much smallmouth fishing and was planning on launch somewhere between wolf island area and clayton ny depending on where would be better. also ive heard alot of stories about peopl doing damage to their boats with all the shoals. is there anything unmarked i should look out for. :-/ Thanks for all the help
