  1. Haven't fished there before, but it is not too far. Might be worth the trip. Thanks for the info guys.
  2. I bet the spring time it will be pretty loaded with people. I may take that risk and give it a go my first weekend. That should be soon, I am looking to pick up the license this week. Oh, I better get my stuff ready...
  3. When fishing the Senkos, do you float them under a bobber or on thier own? I never fished wacky style, so I am trying to learn that.
  4. Thanks for the info. So you actually entered the dealership lot and went to the back? They don't have any issues with that? I do have connections with the dealer anyway... It might come in handy...
  5. iI should try Lower Herford. It is not too far, really. As for Wright Pontiac, I heard it is a good spot but I do not know how to get behind there. Not sure where to even park.
  6. It was like 8 feet wide or something. Did you see all those men around it? Holy Crap!
  7. Where are the Molasis Tanks in Monaca? I am from Monaca, but never heard of that. I am guessing on the Ohio, but that does not help me much. Do you know if the pumphouse are or under the train briodge are any good for Bass? Tips for fishing a river for bass?
  8. The running water is thawed completely, and the standing water(lake) is thawing. You can see a lot of dark spots, meaning the ice is getting thinner. There are some wholes melted in it already, esp. by the dam.
  9. I thought I had a record small fish when I hooked a 3 in. largemouth on a rapala. Sheesh, you win!
  10. Most of the ice has thawed here in SW PA, but you still need a license to fish here...need to get that... Also need to restring the reels, have not done that in 2 years...its time. Gonna put on some heavy line on one reel, for when I am targeting the biggies, and keep a few with smaller line for the "other than Bass" types...
  11. I mentioned about 8 years ago to my wife that I might like to try my hand at fishing. She got me a nice rod and reel and some line for an anniversary. It sat untouched in my garage for about 6years. 2 years ago, on Father's Day, I decided I was going to string that reel up and go to the local lake. Every weekend after that, and every weekend for just about 3/4 of the year I am on that lake. I like fishing, for any fish, but am geetting into Bass fishing more so now. I don't have a batcaster setup yet, but am saving up to get one. I got pretty good with my open face spinning reel, and have a nice 7 foot ugly stick that I bought last year(again with anniversary money...) I had to the original she got me 8 years ago snapped of during a camping trip with the scouts. I like using the spinners, Rooster Tails in particular. I am definately going to try some Bass lures this year. Have some Frogs, and some nice Jigs. Plan on experimenting with trailers, etc.
  12. I have heard of some big fish in Brady's Run. I have seen others catch them. Not jus Bass, but others as well. 22 in Catfish. One guy caught a 22 Rainbow in that Lake. So I know they are there. As for learning their habits, etc. that is tough, when so few are spotted by me...the biggie large I caught last summer was aon a Berkley shad imitation. As soon as it hit the water it got nailed. Mouth bigger than a baseball. About 12-15 feet of water. (not saying much that whole lake is only about 20 in the deep parts...) The one the year before that was on a real worm. Who knows. I am going to try some new tricks I have learned over the winter. Hopefully my luck will pick up... I put them all back any way. I will look into the other lakes mentioned as well. And BTW, yes, I am in Beaver County.
  13. I fish mainly Brady's run Lake, a Big Bass Lake, according to the Fish and Boat Commision. I do not, however, own a boat. Can anyone help a newer fisherman with some shore fishing tips? In two years, I only caught two legal sized Bass. Both were 18 inches, and around 4-4.5 lbs.
  14. There are regs that say that trout can be caught and release up to Apr 1st in Big Bass lakes. They also say C&R only from April to June for bass.
  15. Looks like the Homestead Grays Bridge...
