Right now I'd say senko. But, truth is, I just started using them this season so I'm still excited by the number of hits. Used jigs for the past couple of years and have had great luck but the senkos seem to catch alot of fish (although more small fish than jigs). Who knows? I'll probably have a different answer within a week!

I've had good luck the past couple of times out (within the last week) using rattle traps. I've been throwing 1/2 oz, and have done fairly well but my fishin' partner (or one of them anyway) has been using 3/4 oz and has pulled in quite a few 3lb plus bass! By the way, we've been on smallish 'farm ponds' in the area. Haven't had much luck yet at Huntsman. The water is still on the cool side on the larger bodies of water. Thanks for all the welcomes! Sam, I live in northern Va. (Lorton/Fairfax Station area to be exact). I fish Huntsman, Mercer, the Occoquan, Fountainhead, Burke Lake (grudgingly) and any other smaller ponds I can find wher there may be that trophy bass as yet uncaught! I'll be posting questions hopefully on all the appropriate forums very soon. Can't wait for the dogwoods to bloom!

Just wanted to introduce myself to the board! I've been reading the forum for awhile now and decided it was time to make better use of it with questions that I often have regarding this fine sport. I started fishing (mostly freshwater) when I was a kid and just recently got back into it. I find myself 'hooked' and am having difficulty concentrating on other past hobbies like golf etc. Looks like I'm in very good company! I like the overall tone of the forum and the helpful insights by people that are obviously just as addicted as I am. I'm looking forward to many hours of education. Thanks for the opportunities. Jim
