Lately it hasn't been much at all because I have been saving up to get some newer and much better rods and reels. This year I have probably only spent around $200.00 on new lures

I like fishing deep, but I love fishing shallow so I will usually start there. I will progessively get deeper as the days go on until I find what depth they are holding at.

Whenever I go out I usually get a few bass that are 16-18 inches, so when I do get a 5 lb er. I get pumped and pretty excited, but I definitely don't go Iaconelli.

I noticed that you live in Virginia so you might have been there before, but if you haven't I would probably go to Smith Mountain Lake. If you don't like that option then I might consider a smallmouth trip somewhere.

Lets say that you are practicing for a tournament and you head out to the ledges to see if any fish are on them, do see if there is any activity on your graph before you even make your first cast and if there is not do you move on to the next one to see if you see anything or do you fish it regardless to see if you catch anything? I am asking this because I have been struggling finding fish on the ledges lately. Thanks for the responses.

Jason I am also from NC what lakes do you typically fish? I might have fished them before and will be able to help you better.
