  1. I went out late yesterday and found that there were lots of schools of minnows (are these shad?) right on the top. Clearly something was chasing them and I thought it must be bass. I tried spinner baits, top water jointed minnow, jerk bait minnow and bomber without a single hit. What techniques do you use under these conditions to get them to strike?
  2. I bought a Curado E200 this spring and spooled it up with 12 lb P Line fluorocarbon. I've used it quite a bit since then. Recently I've noticed that the line seems a bit stiff and tends to blossom up on the spool more often than I remembered in past months. I just got out the original spool of line and it appears to be more flexible. I used line conditioner in the past but stopped using it because it was a nuisance to keep applying it and I made everything feel greasy. Two questions, does anyone have any experience with this line getting stiffer as you use it for several months? Secondly, is it possible that the line conditioner contributed to the line stiffness? Thanks in advance.
  3. While I'd listen to a good argument I don't think it could work. Water effectively absorbs all the uv rays from the sun spectrum so there are no uv rays to enhance with whatever the stuff is.
  4. I see lots of long nose gar here on Lake of the Ozarks. They roll on the top of the water and always active in the early mornings. The bass are still here but are catching them deep or near the rocky shoreline. I tried the rope lure a little for gar this morning without success. I put the frayed rope behind a spinner lure and the spinners kept fouling with the rope. I think it might be as much fun to catch one of those four footers as it is catching a bass??
  5. I just had BPS put 10 lb Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon on my new Pflueger President spinning reel. I've fished with it now several times and am very frustrated with the rig. I like the color/visibility of the line but it's terrible about looping out off the spool and making a mess of line that the only solution is to cut it off and start fresh. How would I recognize if the line were spooled on wrong at BPS? I don't have much experience with spinning rigs. What's the best line for avoiding this type of problem and being able to throw 1/8 to 1/4 oz lures? _______________________________ 05 Stratos 295 XL Pro/200 Evinrude HO/25 Tempest Plus
