So Yall Want To Learn Sam Rayburn
Weighed in a 7.15 in McDonalds last weekend. Caught her 15 minutes into the tourney Friday morning. Top water in 2 feet of water. Lots of fish moved up feeding in early morning on some main lake points. I heard winner caught his in 2 feet in late morning after having making passes through same area without a bite. Just happened to be their when she moved up. I know a couple 6 pounders were caught in 10 feet on 10 inch worms. Had over 20 fish a day in our boat the first 2 days. But Sunday was tougher with the 30 mph wind. Only 5 fish that day but couldn't fish our best areas.

Post Spawn Numbers Vs Size
Been catching a lot of 2 pounders since the spawn ended. But no size at all for the last 8 days. I understand the females are recovering but how long until they start eating? Or what can I do to get them to bite now?

So Yall Want To Learn Sam Rayburn
Spent Good Friday and Saturday on Rayburn. Friday we were in San Augustine flats and had a limit of small ones on C rig in 5-10 foot water. Saturday we put in at Caney and fished main lake points up to Mud and over to Coleman and Norris. Again a limit of small keepers on C rigs. Not a single fish over 3 pounds either day. Big girls must be in post spawn recovery. Maybe the ones up north are eating.

Headed to Rayburn Sunday. Are there fish on beds down south? What is the best color on flukes? Thanks for any help?

Drop Shot Mistakes?
Do you tie your fuoro and braid together or connect them with a swivel? I am wondering if a swivel will affect the bow in the line that you want for for shaking the bait.

Drop Shot Mistakes?
This is some great stuff. I can't wait to try it. I been watching a lot of videos and heard a pro say it isn't a search bait for him. He only uses it when he knows bass are there, like when he has graphed them deep or side imaged them under a dock.

Drop Shot Mistakes?
What are the most common mistakes new drop shotters make? I am gonna try to learn this technique. I know the bite is gonna be different than a texas rig bite. I never fish very slow. Do you typically slow way down when drop shotting?

Warmest Water In The Lake Right Now.......
Should be in creeks or coves protected from the north wind correct? So does that mean these areas will have the first spawners and therefore the first fish staging on secondary points?

Fishing Creek Channels
I approach humps and roadbeds the same way you are talking about. I will graph sometimes 10 spots before I ever wet a line. But I never really worry about seeing fish when working a creek channel. I caught a 8-14 and a 8-12 Saturday pitching to timber along the edge of the creek channel. That was after 2hours without a bite of winding through the timber pitching at every piece of wood beside the creek. I don't know if you could have seen these fish on your graph, maybe with side imaging. I don't mind pitching to visible timber suspecting a big fish is laying against it at the bottom. I think for sure on a creek channel without visible cover I could use the graph like you are saying to choose my areas.

Fishing Creek Channels
Good tips Zip. I love the flutter spoon here on Lake Fork but have only used it on humps and roadbeds. Great screenshots Wayne. Would you be fishing that bend if you had not graphed that school of fish? Do you fish along the creek channel for hundreds of yards or only fish the bends or only fish when you graph some fish? I tend to fish fast through the straight stretches and then slow way down on the bends.

Fishing Creek Channels
I use my sonar/gps to follow the creek channel now. I am curious how to fish it when there is no visible cover. If I go to a different lake without so much timber I would still like to fish the creek channels effectively. Sounds like jerk bait and crankbait are possibilities. In regards to positioning of fish relative to the channel, I did notice all four fish I caught Saturday were on the same side of the channel edge. Also is there a time when the bottom of the creek channel holds the fish instead of the edges?

Fishing Creek Channels
I fish a lake with a lot of timber and its easy to follow the creek channel and pitch a jig to timber on the channel edge and catch fish this time of year. But what if your lake doesn't have timber? Surely the fish are still relating to the creek channels this time of year. What do you throw in this instance when you don't have a visible target?

How Far Will Bass Move In A Day?
Lets say you are catching bass in shoreline cover the first hour of daylight on topwater and you are catching bass 300 yards away in 23 feet on an underwater bridge in the middle of the day. Are they the same school of fish that are following the old sunken roadbed up to the shallows early to feed?

How To Fish This Ridge?
I guess I am trying to see if there is a best approach to using sonar on this ridge. Should I start on the dropoff end and graph it for baitfish? Is the top too shallow to graph and see fish? If the fish are on top of the ridge are they most likely feeding? Are the suspended fish I saw at 13 feet over the 30' creek catchable? My thought process right now is 1) Graph the creek and if the fish are on bottom try a c rig on them 2) If they are suspended move on top of the ridge and fan cast a crankbait on top for the length of the ridge 3) If i catch a fish on top of ridge study that spot for any irregularities and refish that area thoroughly

How To Fish This Ridge?
I found this underwater ridge in my favorite lake. It is about 200 yards long with the top of the ridge varying from 5 to 10 feet deep. That top is about 20 yards wide. On one end the ridge drops sharply into 30 feet with a creek at the bottom there. The other side of the creek comes up into 25 feet and flattens out into a timbered area. Both sides of the ridge slope gradually into 25 feet. The end opposite the creek slopes gradually into a 15 foot timbered area. I have not noticed any vegetation. There are maybe a dozen scattered stumps on top of the hump in 5 to 10 of water. How would you approach this area? 20 C i 15 R i --------------------------------------------------------------------------- E i E i 5 ft 10 ft 5 ft 10 ft 15 ft timber K i i---------------------------------------------------------------------------- i 15 20
