  1. I am in for MO, may have a shot at one if I can get the boat up here in that time.
  2. That is a really cool story, thanks for sharing that.
  3. well dang, I wouldn't change a thing... That is one heck of a haul. Congrats
  4. I use them for the tighter wiggle and I can crank em faster to get the reaction strikes.
  5. Hey guys, looking for some info on targeting walleye, never caught one before and don't really know where to start. I will be fishing from the bank to start off, but will be bringing up a 14ft jon boat with a 5hp and trolling motor in a couple of weeks. So what are some of the tactics that you guys use from shore and the boat. I will be fishing Mozingo Lake in Northwest Missouri if that is any help. Thanks for the help
  6. What color of jigs and grubs were you using and how big were they? I would try a white grub probably about 4in with a 1/2-1oz jig head in chartreuse or black. Another is a swimbait with the same kind of jig head, something that will get down to that depth and allow you to slow roll it, to entice the strike. Basically anything imitating shad would be a good choice to start with.
  7. I love snaggin!!! There are not too many ways to catch a spoonbill without draggin the bottom, not to mention they taste pretty darn good too. I think that one of the fun ways to catch (shoot) those asian carp would be to go after them with archery gear. Some of those Youtube videos look sweet.
  8. Sometimes you just have to "go Ike" and freak out!!! ;D ;D
  9. Dang, that is one heck of a gar. I haven't been able to get one on rod and reel, but slay them while bow fishing, still put up a great fight.
  10. Those are some great pics!!! Some of those fish I was able to catch while living in England, definitely some strange ones. Thank you for your service for our country!!!
  11. I think that they are one of the hardest fighting fish, but have never caught a smallie. I usually catch them on Rat-l-Traps, any topwater plug, or Roadrunner crappie jigs. When I am using the Rat-l-Traps we troll around humps and flats while looking for schooling baitfish on top, when we find them getting busted on top, start throwing the plug or jig. One of the great things about fishing for wipers is that they are a schooling fish and once you get into them, it is some fast and furious catching.
  12. Mozingo is a great lake just east of Maryville. Great bass fishing!!! Not too many people fish it which is nice. Bilby is quite a bit smaller than Mozingo and apparently holds some good walleye. I haven't fished it that much because Mozingo is by far the better of the two.
