  1. Never Giving Up! Soft plastics is always my first choice, followed by topwater(weather permitting) then I become the junk fishing king.
  2. Thanks Boca, but with all the free knowledge that I get from the forum and the fact that I can help a fellow angler out in a tournament, a few crank baits is still an unfair trade. Goodluck and God Bless my friend.
  3. Nice idea! Here's another quick and cheap way of doing it. Take a two part ballpoint pen(the ones that screw together in the middle) and use just the front of the pen casing. The senko should fit right in and since the casing is smaller at the front, the O-rings go on easy and all you have to do is slide the O-ring right up.
  4. Now let's reverse the question alittle. Take away all the advancements in technology of today's equipment such as all the electronics, trolling motors, advancement in reels and rod sensitivity, soft plastics(no senkos), swimbaits and really only having mono line as the main option. Now, how many of today's top guys would be on top in the 70's and 80's? Would they still be handing these older guy's arses then? IMO technology can take a level playing field and turn it on its side. If one can't make that adjustment then he will certainly be a step behind those who can, and are up todate with it.
  5. I am mainly a shore angler myself and when I'm out looking for a place to start casting, I'm looking for that spot where I have some type of cover to throw at, whether it be logs, stumps, overhanging branches, groups of fallen branches, cattails and my favorite underwater grass of some type. I work each spot with a combo of lures such as, a soft plastic of some type and then a top water bait since its a little warmer.
  6. The Lord and Family has to be first, friends will be in the boat with me or on the shore with me, everyone else will either get my voice mail or a call back between cast. Bass fishing for me is therapy. The smell of being outdoor, the sounds of the birds, water rushing the banks, for those moments in time everything is on hold and I'm at peace with myself and my surrounding.

  13. Ikas have been my go to bait. Texas rigged backward(from the skirt area to the head) this will allow the bait to glide away from you and I like to use them with no weight and fish slow.
  14. Voted No, I get enough music on the drive to the spot.
