Welcome to Oregon! A kayak is very feasible on the Willamette above the falls at Oregon City, especially after the spring runoff. It's possible to drift downriver from launch to takeout, or paddle up and back from a spot like Newberg or Wilsonville. The river abounds with smallmouth bass. Also try the Mollala River below Canby out to the Willamette, or its trib, the Pudding.

Try Minto Brown Island Park out River Road. There are several lakes and sloughs along the Willamette. If you have a boat, Buena Vista or Wheatland Ferry have good launches with smallmouth water nearby, better when the river level drops to 7' or less, it's 9' now.
