crankbait rods
The closest thing i have found to a Lews cranking stick would be a American RodSmith David Fritts Cranking Series. It is also fiberglass.

Barometic pressure effect
I Try to keep it simple deep fish and current fish are less effected by barometric pressure changes. Shallow fish stay shallow but will move into cover more. High pressure changes fish will be in cover or on the bottom so i throw jigs or try to fish close to cover. Low pressure fish are going to be active and can be caught on faster moving lures and will not relate to the bottom as much.

Texas Rig as Split Shot Rig
Its a splitshot shaped like a bullet weight and it stays really well where ever you put it on the line.

Bullet Weight for Drop Shot
I would say that the only problem i see is that the bullet weight might get caught more in rocks then a round drop shot weight but like you said if it does the weight will pop off the line.

Ever had a bad day?
When I was younger I would sneak out and fish the ponds on the golf course down the road from my house. I had one lake that produced well and had some nice fish in it. One day i took off and fished it during lunch. I brought my tackle box at that time was one of those plano that looked like a suit case but had enough tackle in it to use as an anchor. Well right off the bat i caught a nice 3lb bass and i figured that i wanted to see how many i would catch. So i took out one of those rope stringers and tied it to my box and continued fishing. Not long after i caught a bass about the same size so i added it to my stringer. About 5 minutes later i caught one that would go around 5 lbs so i added it to the stringer with the others. At this point i had not moved but maybe 10 feet from where i started so i desided to move along the shore to find more fish. When i was on the other side i noticed that around my tackle box was some splashing so i figured the fish on my stringer was just being active so i didn't pay it much mind. Next thing i knew i saw a 5 or 6 ft gator rise out of the water with one of my bass in its mouth. All i could think about was the hundreds of dollars of tackle about to be pulled in and lost. So i ran over to my box and the gator ran back into the water so i grabbed the stringer rope that was limp. As i pulled on it all i saw was a head and my fish still sticking out of its mouth. So now i am playing tug of war with a 6 ft gator while fumbling with my knife to cut the line. Finally the gator turned loose of my fish just when i was about to cut the line. I then pulled up one and a half fish still on my stringer.

swimming a jig
I don't think that for swimming a floating pork wouldn't matter much because your not trying to counter balance the jig for a slow fall. There is a jig out on the market called So Slow Jig that if you weight it right will suspend. Also you might want to take a look at Uncle Josh it has the same thing but in different styles. Floating styles included.

Quick Questions.
I guess it would depend on the kind of lure. Is it hand carved or plastic, fat or thin, wide wobble or tight, what kinds of colors. What is the lip made out of? What kind of wood is it made out of and is the hook on eye screws or on a wire harness. What kind of line tie is on it? Is it up against the bait or is it molded on the lip. Can you tell I am kinda picky? The main reason is because I know what will catch fish and if I got a lure that does I don't want the lure to be short lived because of sub standard materials. Cost doesn't matter as long as the lure does what I want and will last more than 3 fish without the paint being half gone. I don't need the hook being pulled out or have to retune after every fish. I don't need anymore junk but if its a great product or if you want an honest opinion I am game ;D I would have to see it first. If its a comparable product to what I am already using I would be interested but I would need more info about it. Some companies offer something similar to what you are talking about but the club cost cover any costs for materials and shipping for x number of lures.

PowerBait
Any lure out fishes live bait because you put it infront of more fish in my opinion.

Defining Success
Success for me is knowing that when i am in a tournament i did everything right even if my limit didn't pan out. If i go home knowing that every fish was played right and every cast was where i wanted them and every bite was hooked and everything that i can controle was in my favor then i feel i found success.

Name a lure thats a fish catching machine
Here are some of mine bomber fat A its about an inch or so long crankbait. Another would be a Bill Norman crappie baby little n. Also a bass assassin soft jerkbait or fluke jr. I can't forget the bitsy jig and senko. For me all of these can catch a ton of fish of all sizes and can catch you a good fish too. These are just a few and I know there are more that I would consider under certain conditions to be fish catching machines.

PowerBait
When powerbait first came out I used them a lot and caught fish on them. I found that they where soft and I was going though a bag a day. There are still a bunch of people that swear by them. Today I don't think I even own a bag mainly because I don't throw as much soft plastics. The soft plastics that I do throw are specialized and Berkley doesn't make a product that is comparable.

Breaking down your year
How do you prepare for openers? Do you gear up long before the opener? Last minute? Improvise during the season? Most of the time i gear up during the winter so i can catch the sales. I might buy stuff during the year or just before a tournament if an oddball lure is required or if a ran out. If i am out on the water and i am unable to use a lure because i am out or if tackle shops don't carry what i need i will improvise or build it myself. During the season, how often are you out on the water? If you're in the north like me, do you go icefishing? How do you prep for that? On average i fish 240 days a year sometimes more or less. I am not a fair weather fishermen so during the year i go rain or shine. Any rituals or traditions you have each year? Repair, oil, and clean my reels once a year. Replace broken line guides on my rods. Get rid of lures that didn't catch fish and clean out my tackle box. Retune all my lures. Mark on all my lures what depths they go. Go though my boat to make sure everything is in working order. What do you do off season to satisfy that fishing itch? Or how do you transition between season? I am lucky if it gets cold i have a few warm water lakes that i can fish.

Screw in bullet weights
I would say that most of the time when i use a worm weight i use this style. It also has a style that has a rattle inside of the weight. They do cost more and i am not saying they are better than a regular weight pegged with a toothpick but it doesn't nick your line like a pegged sinker would. Also because the rattle is in the weight then anything that it comes in contact with and from the force of hopping the worm makes the thing click. If i use a tube that doesn't have a solid head then i use a regular weight or if i use the cyberflex stuff.

You have one cast...
I would say a drop shot with a spinning rod and reel most likely daiwa with 8 lb excel. Lure would be one of those small senko 3" and a gamakatsu hook. I figure on one cast i can work it as long as i want in one spot without moving it or needing to reel it in. Also its a heck of a way to catch fish.

New spin "Bassmaster, a day on the lake with
Well let me ask you this whats the difference between a pro and a normal fishermen .....nothing. With the exception of the fact that the pro knows how to place baits where they need them and when to use them and are able to read conditions and move. The lures and equipment wouldn't matter much. Its not really whats in their box to the same degree as how much they know how to use them.

swimming a jig
I use zoom swim chunk, pork #11,tubes, and the kicking pork frog. I use white mostly but have done well with black in dark water. Its not just a summer bait i have done great from the beginning of fall all the way till the lake freezes. You just gotta slow down with it.

Favorite fishing Location
I have a lake that is about 60 miles from my house that would be my favorite. I like it the best because it can be a hard lake to fish and other times can be mind blowing. I like the fact that it has all kinds of different stuff to fish. I like that i am not limited to what i can throw and can fish deep or shallow to catch fish. The lake has a ton of 4 to 6 lb bass in it.
