LOX ????
I'm going to Lox tomorrow. I think they are getting ready to pop with the better weather...I want to be there when they do. I went to Lox last Tuesday. Started out a little slow in the morning, but it warmed up nice in the afternoon and I got into them pretty good I caught about 20...~15 of those between noon and 2:00PM.

Cold Weather In Florida
Tell me about it...my Dad and I have been fishing out of Holiday Park the past couple days. This is a guy who is a die-hard sportman (hunting/fishing) from Northern Minnesota. He hasn't fished in months and left 10 below weather to come here. Yesterday, he had had enough of the cold and wanted to go in. And we were catching fish... I have lived here 12 years. It seems like we have had more nights under 40degrees than the previous 11 put together. Probably not truly the case, but it seems that way...

Holiday park help?
I fished Holiday Park a couple days ago. I got a few small fish in the canals, with one decent one: ~3lbs. I didn't get a chance to get into the flats, but that's my goal this week. BB, my partner and I are going to try and fish the next KOTG qualifier as well. He's fished a few of these but this will be my first.

Holiday park help?
Thanks guys. Last time I was out there I went with my 6 year old daughter and we caught about 80 just tossing worms/senkos in the canals. I don't think one fish was over 14", but hey...that kind of action is good to keep a six year old's attention. I was planning on heading out Sunday also. Right now, I'm leaning toward trying some of the flats south of Holiday Park along the Miami canal or making the run down to Tamiami Trail. I'll post a report.

Holiday park help?
Any update on Holiday Park? Just looking for general info...Has the fishing picked up at Holiday Park? Or is a person better off fishing north still (Miami canal or Alligator Alley)? I plan on fishing the glades this weekend and looking for a good starting point. I will send a report. Thanks!

lox on 1-24
I fished Lox yesterday. Went out myself and did a lot of running, trying a bunch of different areas. Took awhile, but I got locked into them later in the day, and ended up catching 14 total. Caught 8 of those between ~2:00 and ~3:00. Good size also...One solid +4 lber and several 3s. I would have weighed 15lbs with my five biggest, easily. Took awhile to find the presentation/speed/location, but once I had it dialed in I started ripping them pretty good. Of course, once I had the pattern, I was out of time and had to go...

lox on 1-24
I went to Lox this morning from 7:30 - 11:30. I was a little disappointed having done pretty well out there recently and reading some of the good reports here. I caught four, dropping off maybe another four. I spent the first hour throwing horny toads...didn't even get a follow. Afterwards, I ran west and worked the eel grass flats with worms/skinny dippers...caught two and broke off something very big (hope it was a mudfish...snapped my 12 pound mono near the reel). Later worked around the cuts with various plastics...nothing. Fished near the spillways with shakey heads/senkos and caught two. Finished up on the flat near the landing throwing everything in the box...nothing. I was going to try the N-S canal but ran out of time. Perhaps the fish are moving up onto the beds? Maybe the good fishing on the flats recently was the fish putting their pre-spawn feed bag on? Or maybe they're still going on the flats and I just really suck... ;D Anyway, interested in hearing other reports...

I plan on going to Lox, Tuesday. I will likely be on the west end of the south flat. I'll let you guys know how I do.

What is Stick Marsh/Farm 13
Hey George. I bought a Hewes a couple months ago...I'm building up the courage to drive up and run her out there in the stumps. I've been to China four times since we fished last, but this phase of my project is almost over and then it's time for some serious fishing. Hope to see you on the marsh, soon. For those who haven't spent a day in the boat with George, it's a real treat. I've driven up from Fort Lauderdale three times to fish with him. It's worth it to me just to be in the boat, talk bass fishing and learn. And there's the stories...he has a stick marsh story that blows the 20lb Lox bass away. The scenery, entertainment (stories) and education are alone worth the price of admission. The monster bass you catch are just a bonus! 8-)

Holiday PArk
I went to the Alley today from 9:00-1:00 with my six year old daughter. She caught 8 fish and I caught probably five times that. Had good action all day but mostly small, biggest maybe 2.5lbs.

Yeah, I usually put in at that rest station (I think about MM34?), then go thru the shallow weir a little bit west of the landing and fish the North canal. My Hewes runs in about 10" and I'm not clearing by much. I have a question about MM41. I've never been there. Looking at Google Maps the landing appears to be on the North side. How do you get coming back East when leaving? Looking at the map, I don't see an overpass or turnaround.

Holiday PArk
I've heard MM 41 is doing pretty good-good luck. With the water dropping I'm not sure you can go west from the Miami canal ramp at the Rest area I've got a Hewes flats boat that runs pretty skinny. It's always a little dicey going through that first weir, though, when the water drops. I didn't make it out yesterday...work plans changed. Shooting for tomorrow morning, weather permitting.

I was planning on going to alligator alley Friday. I went out there about three weeks ago and did pretty well. I imagine the fishing is a little better out there now. I'll give a report...

Lox on Wednesday 11/11
I went to Lox Saturday and Sunday. Caught a lot of bass. I brought my 6 year old daughter Sunday...she caught six little bass herself in two hours. She's now done something I can't claim at Lox: caught her age!

I ended up going to Alligator Alley today. The bite was actually pretty good. Fished from 2:30 to 5:00, catching about a dozen. Four on frogs, the rest on senkos/speed worms. Not much size though...biggest about two pounds.

i guess i'm back
Yeah, I didn't go back in there as far as usual. I got a new (to me) boat and Thursday was her first time out. Stayed pretty close to the main trail, playing with the accessories/electronics/etc.. Maybe Sunday I'll bring her back in the slop... I've got some pretty good spots out there also. Me and my partner fished two (FS Forum) tourneys out there and we won em both. Maybe see you out there, Sunday. Got a VHF?

i guess i'm back
Hey bocabasser. I was out to Lox on Thursday. I got a few, but was a little disappointed with the size. I was froggin most the time on the south flats. How about you? Frogs? C-rigging the outlets? I hope to go again on Sunday.

Any recent reports out of Loxahatchee? I plan on taking my new boat on her maiden voyage tomorrow to Lox. Hitting the south side flats. Any updates would be appreciated. I'll post a report Friday.

South Florida (Coral Springs, Tamarac Area)
Blade...check your IM. I gotta keep my stealth mode status intact. Some very uptight home owners around here, who are not too sympathetic towards bass fishermen.

South Florida (Coral Springs, Tamarac Area)
Hey Blade. I live in a golf course community in Tamarac. Took my land boat (i.e. golf cart) out tonight and caught eight after dinner. These golf course ponds around here are full of bass, but you better be in stealth mode...

Everglades summer fishing
Fished Holiday Park today. It was S-L-O-W. Caught three from 6:30 - 10:00. Two little largemouth and one peacock maybe 2lbs. I added a picture of the peacock... The pumps were going and the water was way up. I talked to some guys at the dock. They asked how I did and I said I got three. They said that was three more than everyone else is getting. Think I'll stick with Lox for awhile....

Everglades summer fishing
Amen bocabasser. I mentioned earlier in this thread...Lox is definately my favorite place to fish in south florida. Nothing better than catching big bass on horny toads. There was a tourney at Lox this morning also. I don't know how the winner did, but I think we would have done pretty well. Our six biggest fish today would have been well over 20lbs and we quit at 10:00AM. Last year the two of us won the FS Forum tourney out at Lox. That place has been pretty good to me and I love fishing it.

Everglades summer fishing
We fished Loxahatchee this morning. Fished from 6:30 to about 10 and caught ~15fish. Average size was very good, though, with a bunch of 3-5lb fish. Here are two of the bigger ones we got today.

Are the fish still going good at Loxahatchee? I'm going to give it a try tomorrow morning. I'll post a report when I can.

Everglades summer fishing
I had my trip to the stick marsh yesterday with George Welcome. It was a tough day. The wind was blowing hard out of the South/SW which made it very difficult to fish the way George wanted to. But he worked hard and were able to get some fish. None of the famed stick marsh monsters but we did get a couple 4lbers. I was impressed enough with George and with the lake that I left Fort Lauderdale at 4:00 AM this morning to drive back up and try it again. Today was even tougher with the waves again crashing into the north side of the lake and no water flow. Still I had a great time fishing with George. He's a good guy to spend a day with and I learned a lot. I definately am going to try another trip to the marsh soon.
