Heading up to Skeg around memorial day. Never been there so I am looking for some info on what to expect. Lures, tactics and such. Also wondering about other lakes in the area. Are there other lakes that are better. We are going to Skeg because one of the guys going with us has been there before. We will be fishing for 3 days, so we can hit several lakes if we want. . Early in the spring on the river here watermelon red strike king coffee tubes later on the 4" poor boy stick worm in any sort of watermelon, watermelon red or baby bass color. Also poor boy erie darters work at times

I really like my BPS Extreme Woo Daves worm rod. It is a 7' Medium power fast action. Works great with my BPS Viper spinning reel. Dont think they even make that reel any more though. Picked it up @ the bargain store in Springfield 5 or 6 years ago. Most of my worming is finesse worms with 1/8 ounce or less weight. I do really like the extreme rods. I think for the money they are a steal. Hersh

Thinking about buying a g loomis 853 Was wondering if that rod will work for throwing jigs around some structure but not heavy grass. I usually use a 3/8 ounce jig maybe a bit heavier now and then. Mostly pitching to docks and rocks. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Hersh
