  1. Stopped by my fathers 2-acre pond yesterday after work. Had an hour to kill so I figured I would goof around. Was 4:15 PM, 81 degrees, sun shining brightly, water clarity pretty darn clear with minimal wind. I had a spinnerbait already rigged up so I tossed it for a few minutes with not even a look. Grabbed another rod with a chatterbait and tried every shadow and structure I could find as slow as I could and still nothing! THEN IT HIT ME! I needed to try out those Senko's that I'd had for weeks now. Texas rigged a watermelon 4" Senko with no weight and fished the edges of some weeds. 5 bass ranging from 1/2lb to 2lb's later (30 minutes of fishing) and I'm now a believer in the power of the Senko! On 4 of those fish I couldn't even tell they had taken it until I went to bounce the bait. Definitely going to try these more in the coming weeks. I never would have used the bait if it weren't for so many people on here recommending them!
  2. There is going to be a lot of really helpful people reply to this thread so I will just toss this out there before the real knowledge shows up. One think I would suggest is to start out keeping it simple!! I had got to a point where I was trying so many different lures and techniques out I simply didn't catch any fish. One day I said screw it, grabbed three rods, one with a rubber worm, one with a chatterbait, and one with a rage tail frog and basically went back to the basics. Lo and behold I caught fish! Good luck out there!
  3. I primarily fish 1 to 2 acre farm ponds but will generally catch more fish then the people I am with. While they are farting around with worms or bobbers I tie on a chatterbait and make laps around the pond usually catching 3 - 4 bass before the others even have their baits wet. Put me on a large body of water or in a boat though and I'm horrible. I have no clue what I'm doing on lakes. :-/ Here is a picture of a decent bass I caught a few weeks ago on a Zoom pumpkin seed colored worm. I caught this because I didn't sit on my butt and climbed through a forest to get to the good spots. (Sorry for the absolute horrible picture quality. My BIL's camera phone is junk)
