Well according to the measurements on the reels it says 80 yards of 8 lb line, i put on MAYBE 30 yards and it still did it.... There any other causes of this you could think of? although this one does seem a good reason

Okay so my buddies just got back into fishing, so i decided to bust out my old rod. It is a Fin-Chaser with an Okuma Ball bearing real. On the actuall reel is says "BX-20" and has some measurments according to test of line and amount to put on. The problem is EVERTIME i string it, tried it with 12 test 3 times and 8 test twice, it doesnt hold. Like after i flip the lock off to cast (that metal loops that holds the string haha) and the line gets slack the string POPS out all over the place. I strung it by running the line through the eyes of the rod and tying it to the reel(my reel spins clockwise) i then reeled in from the spare string in a counter-clockwise direction....still no luck. Anyone know what im talking about? and maybe how to fix it?
