Just a FYI, prob. already discussed on here but do not put JJ's into those Plano liquid containers, the JJ's melts the plastic in less than 10 mins. My dumb mistake.
  3. Speaking of livewells, what is a two pump livewell system? Is it just what it say's a livewell with two water in pumps incase one fails?
  4. Also it was in Stain - dirty water. If I would take my sensitivity up to 15-20 I would see nothing but red on my screen.
  5. Yea i was stationary when i took that, I have the sensitivity at about 7, i think my surface clutter is at about 3-4, do you take ur clutter down to zero?
  6. Again trying to understand my Fish Finder, I got the depth to stop jumping around and cleared some of the surface clutter off the screen, also reduced the sensitivity down to like 7 on a scale of 1-20, most of my screens today were pretty clear and looked good but now i need to understand what im am looking at, if anyone could help me, here is just a picture i took today, I don't know what the blue stiff is and this was the only time it was on the screen. This was in a river and the depth lines read 0,2.5,5, and 7.5. So what am i looking here bottom wise and that blue stuff. Thanks
  7. Im new to using fish finders and I am trying to learn to set-up mine and read it, but one of the problems I am having is the depth is not steady when I am anchored, it will jump from like 4.5-6.5 very fast back and fourth how do I fix this. It is an Humminbird 587ci.
  8. So what would be the best way to charge an optima blue top, and what would be a good charger? Because on thier website they say just charge like normal.
  9. Are there any deep cycle batteries that are same size as the optima, height wise? Reason is I have to place it under my front deck and space is limited height wise. Will buy an optima, but if there is another battery that is comparable in performance for less money and same height as the optima it would help.
  10. Hey Urban, from the Tower City area and this time last year I had my boat out on the Juniata and Susquehanna every weekend, doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon this year. :'(
  11. I was looking at the Fish Elite 642c and the Humminbird 768 at cabela's the guy there was telling me some info on both. Reason I was looking at these two is one they were both on sale the Fish elite was $349 and the Humminbird was $299, and two I fish mainly rivers that are any were from 1-20 ft deep usually on the lower end and I hear they are not that useful in low water. My main purposes would be deepth, speed, water temp, GPS which both have, and in the deeper water fish finding. Anyone use either of these 2 are they good or any suggestions about other ones. I don't want to spend alot of money because like I said I fishing mostly in low rivers. The Elite was in color also.
  12. Mine was used and found it on craiglist, an older guy had it who could not use it himself anymore. He barely used it anyway he said, and it was like brand new. He had it gone over by Ducky's before he would sell it to me. Boat was from around Hershey.
  13. Just got a new Minn Kota Power Drive and need to get the Male and Female receptacle for it and my boat, any suggestions on good ones. It is for a 12v and price dont matter as i want a good one. Thanks
  14. I just got my first Jet, it is a used 16' Xpress with a 60/45 Merc on it. I use it on the Susquehanna and the Juniata, I love it will never go back. I can hit about 30 MPH with it which for me is fast since my previous boat was a 14' with a 15HP force, my Xpress is a little heavier so the motor prob. could go faster on a different boat. I paid about 6 grand for it fully loaded. Also my cousin has a 18' extra wide I mean extra wide war eagle, with I think like a 125hp 4-stroke jet and that thing flies also it it supper quite but he also paid alot for it.
  15. Every time I follow Pro-Tec guidlines my powder coating begins to drip in the oven, so I just set the temp. a bit lower and watch them.
  16. Alright, yea I would be out in my boat and im not looking for electric only lakes, do tons of river fishing and some tours. like I said but have always wanted to get out on some lakes. How is that mauch chunk lake? size, or any motor restrictions?
  17. Hey just found this topic, im from the Tower City area and mostly a river fisherman but want to start getting to some lakes. I just read about this lake and its not to far from me I was wondering what the bass are hitting. Are the bass hitting since it has warmed up? What are the chances of catching largemouth? One more question is it better fishing there in the fall and spring? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. Glenn
