  1. crazy is right... not only is it crazy that it worked in getting such an amazing fish but the man has to be certifiably crazy for even thinking of bringing that snake in the boat much less attempting to pick it up and hook and unhook it!
  2. What is the best method for fishing this kind of pond? the pond is small i would say no more then 3-4 acres i threw a frog for a bit with no luck and a spinnerbait but just as i thought the spinnerbait just wound up pulling up a bunch of garbage. Any help?

  4. Where in Maryland are you? i am on the eastern shore near Ocean City. I have been having a lot of luck with spinners but with the veg. the way you say it is i think your doing what you can and its just slow right now. Maybe cause of the cool off but probably just a string of bad luck. keep at it. They will come around

thanks for the advice i am gonna sneak out at lunch to try it out. I didnt think what i found was gonna be such a cool bait. Nice to find something with all the lures i have lost in that pond. Eyes will be peeled to the shore line from now on lol

One last question about this bait should i use a direct tie, a rapala loop knot or a swivel/snap? Thanks

I threw it out a few times and it was def a floater unless it was being retrieved, i think you are right the bottom of the lure says J-7. I will try the fast, slow and pause thanks

I found this lure on the bank of the pond i was at tonight. Can anyone tell me how to fish it properly. I am sure its a pretty dumb question but i have never fished one before.
  9. I am not familiar with the river other than having heard of it. Although the colors i have been doing well with here in maryland so far are white spinners, black and blue spinners, and any crankbait you have. I know its not helpful for your situation but i figured i would try and help out a fellow maryland fisher.
  10. Good time! Congrats to your little girl. Awesome first bass
  11. Awesome Fish that is very impressive! Also that hat is awesome as well. Glad to see other TERPS fans on here
  12. Well i was able to break the skunk streak... Went out and started off like normal, cast cast cast... Loose my rattle trap in the tree right after i saw a bass chasing it all the way to shore. tied on a spinnerbait which i was not as confident in but had been reading how a lot of people where having success with it. So i tied on a white spinner with blue tips and saw a fish jump and was able to cast to that area 3 or 4 times and it was game on. Wasnt anything to write home about but was a relief to finally get off the skunk. Nice little #1.5 LMB. Cant wait to get back out...
  13. awesome might just wait till the weather gets a little colder and prices come down a little.
  14. true about the dinks, very true...
  15. LOL yes i was joking becasue when i copy and pasted one of the reels that was suggested a baitcaster came up so i was being a little sarcastic at the same time... sorry about that
  16. Do you think that the baitcaster would be ok on that rod though?
  17. Good luck hope you guys catch some big uns
  18. excellent advice guys thanks for the help... if you think of anything else let me know.. I will try and look at some of these in the stores if at all possible first then see if their is a site with a better price.
  19. Thanks for the advice... i will try this next time i see them out... i know one of the guys is trolling a bait behind his john boat that seems to get an enourmous amount of bites. I will try and see what the other guys are doing will report back when i see them next thanks...
  20. Skillet unfortunatly i live in a neighborhood where the population is mostly older people. So me being 20 something i walk up and start a friendly chat about fishing but they are all so tight lipped cant get a clue what they use... Gonna have to break out the binocculors lol... I dont get it i can share what info i know with whoever especially younger kids but these older guys feel as though they are gonna break some law by talking with me about their tactics.. Oh well KMS I am on it i just have to save some money but your right the two guys i do see with canoes and john boats are killing it. Just have to get some extra dough. Anyway thanks for your help guys.

Welcome and good luck. My dad lives in Howard County in Ellicott City and i have not fished their yet but i want to try soon. I am in the Ocean City area. Hope you get into them soon. I am a bit slow going myself...
  22. I just broke my spinning reel and need to replace it. It is the orginal reel from the combo that came with the rod. The rod is a Diama graphite composit Black Widow. Its a 7 foot Medium rod any suggestions as to what you might get for it? i need something that can cast far (since i am fishing from the shore) and is not gonna break the bank. I would say less then 150-200 if possible. Thanks for any advice you may have in advance.
  23. Well i have been out i cant count how many times in the last 4-6 weeks and i have thrown everything from power worms, senkos, to spinners, buzz baits, crankbaits, and Rattle Traps but seems all i catch are 6 inch bass if that or the tree and loose my bait. Getting very frustrated but i know my luck has to turn around at some point. Fishing a clear to stained pond with tons of Milfoil, and I'm on the shore so their is not much option and don't know the topography of the pond which makes it hard too. I see guys pulling nice bass out of it but heck if i know how to lol. Anyway keeping my head up and gonna try anything i can think of.
  24. I have just started taking pics other than just of the fish i catch... here is my fav so far of the sunset over the pond i fish...
  25. I used to use snaps all the time. I didnt have much luck so i tied directly to the bait and started catching some bass. Makes no sense but i am now direct tie only even though it takes some time to change baits.
