A twitch for me is taking my finger and moving the line to "twitch the bait".....A jerk is the whole rod movement..... Please don't tell me I've been doing it wrong all these years... G

My Dad used to drive me nuts doing the same thing...All over the place...not close enough, too far, "Where the hell are we going Dad?" Wish he was still here too me driving me crazy. I have come to realize any day fishing is a good day.

Hey BassShepard... or anyone ....if 45 per mile is a small population....what is rated as very good? I simply have no idea what numbers would be good. Thanks G

I live on a small river in NC, near TN line. The small mouth have made a big jump in numbers, their color and heath looks good too. The other fish have dropped. Fish and Game came and did a survey, for a few mile stretch of the river. The end results haven't came out yet, but was told the small mouth population was the largest in many years. But the pan fish numbers have dropped to a scary level. Only two muskies and not one cat fish which they said was strange. He said this river used to have them.

never keep anything, used to, just don't do it anymore

when the river is up and the water is a little off color, not muddy, just not crystal clear like it usually is here. They seem to bite more. I think it makes it easier to sneak up on them too, I mostly wade fish. I'm not for sure if that is the reason, just a guess.

The bed liner paint that I got from Wal-mart must seal pretty good, it made my truck bed hold water...LOL....should keep water out. I agree make do wth what ya got.

Hi everyone , My name is George, I live in North Carolina about 50 miles north of Asheville, I have only been bass fishing for a few years now. I live on a little river with a lot of small mouth in it. My wife came I one day with a fishing kit, you know one of those cheap telescopic rods with a plastic spinning reel with assorted baits, that she got at a yard sale for a dollar. She looks back and laughs now and tells everyone it was the worst dollar she ever spent. I have learned a lot from this web site,and still learning, so I thought I would join in So "Hello everyone"
