Favorite Season to bass Fish?
Last year I didn't do much bass fishing in the spring, so I may have a new favorite season after this spring. Last year my favorite was during the fall. I love catching fish after fish on cranks and topwaters.

bass pond
For me when the weather and water temps are like that I can only get a reaction strike. I'd try crankbaits, with a slow retrieve and lots of quick jerks and pulls, followed by short pauses. I'd also try jigs, ripping them a couple feet off the bottom and then letting em sit for a while. Jerkbaits would probably be good too. I'd try real slow too, but sometimes you really need to force those fish too strike.

Guess the weight
I'm gonna say right around 10-12. I've never caught one that big so I may be way off though. Whatever it weighs that's a nice fish, congratulations.

Chatterbait blade getting stuck
I've been using the Strike King Pure Poison and haven't had this issue. I haven't used them very much so I can't say for sure.

What's Your Most Productive Time Of day?
I usually catch more fish in the middle of the day, from about 11 to 3. In the late summer/fall the last two hours before dark is really good too.

Goals for the season
I'd like to catch a 7 pound largemouth and a 4 pound smallie. I may be able to get bigger ones, but I try to set realistic goals.

How long is your "day" on the water?
Usually between 7 and 9 hours, usually about 8. Sometimes less if the weather gets to bad or I have something to do. sometimes I'll fish a little longer in the middle of summer if I'm catching a lot of fish.

Kids fish anymore?
I'm 17 and I fish as often as I can. I love fishing and I spend most of my free time either reading about fishing, fishing or watching it on t.v. I started fishing with my dad when I was really young. It's only been the last year or so that I've moved past bait fishing for trout though. Fishing is my favorite thing to do and I wish more young people did it. I do see kids out fishing, but it's usually with families who don't look like they fish much. I never see any kids out on bass boats with their dads, I'm not sure why.

Weirdest Thing You've Ever Hooked?
I caught a pair of little kids underwear before. Also caught a big sock filled with mud.

Shaky head for ice out bass
I'm pretty new to fishing a shaky head, but I caught my first bass of the year on one. I think this would be a great bait to focus on in cold water. You can make your plastic move a lot without actually moving it forward very much. If I were you I'd fish it a lot.

Chigger craw
I've only caught one fish on these, but it's the first bass I've caught since before buying them. I haven't been using em as much as I should. This is one bait I'm gonna be throwing a lot of this spring. The only way I've been successful with them is on a shaky head.

First bass of the Year
I was fishing a steep sloping rocky bank. There was some brush but I caught the fish about 20 feet away from the nearest brush.

Whats your go to lure when all else fails?
Usually a 3/8 green pumkin jig. I think i'm going to start throwing chiggercraws a lot more though.
-
spinnerbait vs lipless crank
Spinnerbaits produce less than any other lure for me. Lipless cranks catch more than anything else for me though.

First bass of the Year
Went out yesterday and got my first one of the year. It weighed 5-4. Caught it on a 1/4 oz Picasso shakey head with a green pumpkin chigger craw.

Minnow Rap
I used to have one of these. The lake I usually fish I never caught anything on it. I think it's cause fish in that lake like fat rattling cranks. I did catch a lot of nice smallies on it at one lake, though.

Vendetta or NOT
I recently bought a vendetta and I'm very happy with it. I say get it.

A bait you hate to use
Senkos. They catch a lot of fish but I cant stand using them. I don't dislike using spinnerbaits, but I've only caught two fish on them, and one was a trout.

Worst Lure ever bought?
Mine was a topwater made made by cotton cordell. This thing was small, and in the water it sat totaly vertical with only its head out of the water. It looked horrible no matter how I worked it.

Favorite Finesse Baits?
If you haven't tried roboworms I highly recommend them. These worms don't look too special but they catch a ton of fish.

All You Bankbeaters/Chunker/Winders
I've fished with lipless cranks a lot, but never like these guys were doing. Ike really stood out to me, he seemed to be working his bait with much sharper jerks than other pros. I haven't been catching many fish this winter and after watching this tournament I think I know why. I've been fishing really slow with jigs and plastics. I forget who but someone said that the fish at lay lake weren't in the mood to eat, which is why people were going for that reaction bite. I'm definitely gonna try that style of fishing next time out.

If you could ask Denny Brauer a question.......
I would really like to know what approach he takes to fishing heavy brush in deep water.

Winter Pond Fishing
Sorry for not saying where I live. I live in Oregon. We've also been having warm weather lately, like 40-50F. This pond has always been really warm for some reason, but I don't know what the water temps gonna be like since I haven't fished it since late summer.

Winter Pond Fishing
I'm going to be fishing a pond tomorrow. I've never fished a pond during the winter. This pond isn't super deep, maybe 15-20 feet at the deepest spot. There isn't a whole lot of cover or structure in the pond. The shoreline has a lot of brush in the water. However, the places with brush are only about five feet deep. There's also a weed bed in about five to ten feet of water. I was just hoping somebody could give me a few pointers on fishing this pond. How deep should I be fishing? I'm planning on fishing mostly Shaky head worms, texas rigs and jigs. Are there any lures you guys would recommend for this pond? Should I be fishing around brush, weed, or just in deeper water altogether? I apreciate any advise anyone can give me.

Jig Trailer Questions
I've been fishing with jigs for a few months now. I always string the trailer on so the hook is straight through the back and out the front. I've been watching a lot of FLW tournaments lately, and I noticed that a lot of guys just hook the trailer once through the middle. I was just wondering, does it make a difference how you rig the trailer? Whats everyone's favorite way to rig trailers? I haven't caught a bass in a while and I'm trying to figure out how to catch one in cold water. I use Yum Chunk trailers and Chiggercraws, should I rig these trailers the same way or differently? Thanks for the help everyone.
