  1. Remember to use some mono backer on the spool before you wind on the braid or you will swear that your drag is not working when the braid starts spinning on the spool when trying to set the hook. I do use flouro as a leader because I am fishing for walleye and still end up catching smallies too. I use PPro #20 and love it.
  2. check out Hatchett Lake in Saskatchewan. Pike, walleye. lakers, and more. Shore lunch everyday and great dinners at night. You will not forget it.
  3. From all the replies I see here, they will bite anything if you have a walleye fishery in your lake or river. I catch most of my walleye on crankbaits in spring/summer and a 3/4 oz. flexit jigging spoon in fall/winter. I am in West N.C. and it don't get no better. ;D
  4. Tried dropshotting this year for them but never got bit. Reverted back to nightcrawlers on a jig to catch them in spring. What spring tactics catch walleye for you besides crankin?
  5. I have friends where you live that put their boats away also. It must be an awful feeling to see ice forming on the lakes. I'd almost forgotten until you reminded me of the crappy winter weather up there. I left Northern Indiana in 1973 and have enjoyed fishing in the South year around since then. Why not join us down here? The weather is great and the fishing is even better!

  8. I am still laughing even as I write this. You must look like Bill Dance on his blooper video. Keep hammerin on 'em and your luck has to change; some day. ;D
  9. I had my hopes up for this fix kit. Will take a pic too when installed. I find it hard to believe that two Johnson Outdoor products would not work together.
  10. Did you install both chokes before you tested for noise again or did you install just one and test to see if both were needed? Thanks Wayne for the pic. It is exactly what they sent me.
  11. Some item to put in the actual power cord (with and oblong donut) for the motor and a new power cord for the DF with a similiar looking round donut in the cord. There were several ferrite rings too whick I will not need due to not having universal sonar in the motor head.
  12. FYI. I do use Stabil WITH the Marvel oil and am hoping this combination will be as effective as Seafoam. I do know that it gives me the confidence that I am trying to keep my stuff in good order. Now if I could just get to those wheel bearings................ ;D
  13. OK, I have been in touch with Johnson Outdoors and in less than 5 minutes yesterday the CS rep was taking my name and address to send me a kit with the RF limiting devices in it. It came today and I will install next week. I hope it will not limit the amount of signal I get from the bottom so as to make my Humminbird dumber. I commend Johnson Outdoors for their excellent CS and will buy another product from them when the opportunity arises.
  14. I see a lot of you fellas are using this additive (Seafoam), and because you value your equipment you do not mind paying the high price. Are any of you using Marvel oil which appears to do the same thing, is cheaper and has been around a long long time? I am running it in my crankcase oils and gasoline in all equipment. What are your opinions? You see lots of endorsements on the internet for Marvel.
  15. I think so??? Loved it back then, but so much wiser now.
