Went jig fishing for first time yesterday. I must say the morning started off well. We put in and trolled over to our first spot. A concrete bridge with two manmade rock points below it. I pitched to the concrete ledge, let the jig sink, let it sit, gave it a quick flutter and BAM! My first Hog was on. Got him to about 5 ft from the boat and he came off. I didn't let him deter me. I pitched right back into the same spot, let it sink, gave it a quick flutter and BAM another fish on the line. Got it to the boat around a 2 lb fish. Looked healty and had great color. I put the fish back in the water and sent it on its way. Repeated process and BAM another hit but I missed him. Needless to say the morning went great and I am a firm believer in jig fishing.

Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I love fishing here in Central Arkansas. We have a wide variety of fish to fish for. Rianbow Trout, Brown Trout, Crappie, Catfish, Smallmouth and my favorite the Largemouth Bass. I fished a lot when I was younger but when I went to college I quit fishing for a while as life got in the way. I started fishing again a little over a year ago and forgot how much I loved it. I bought some fly fishing stuff as I like to trout fish now and then. We have some great trout fishing just about 30 minutes north of me here. I work full time for the military, but I am in the National Guard. Been deployed for an extended period of time before and let me just say there aren't many places to fish in the Middle East. Well, I look forward to talking fishing with many of you and I hope I can contribute to the board in a small way as I have already learned so much from the Articles this board has provided. Thanks for running such a great board and I will recommend you to my friends that is for sure. jj

Haven't been here but a day or two, but have spent a ton of time here. I spend a lot of time at my favorite college football teams site, but other than that I plan on spending more time here. The articles here are outstanding. The posts are informative and so far everyone seems to get along very well. Hope to get to know you all a little better and if anyone is from around central Arkansas, I need a good fishing buddy! LOL! ;D
