  1. Hey Fishin' Buddies; Originally from Cape Cod, I fell in love with freshwater fishing some twenty years ago when I moved to SC. LGM, Smallies, Spotted and Stripers round out my bass loves and a little crappie fishing never hurt either. Lake Murray (Davy Hite fame) is my home lake, but I can reach Lakes Greenwood and Monticello in 30 minutes. We also have access to the Broad, Saluda, Bush, Enoree and Tyger Rivers here in Newberry County. Whenever it is possible, you can find me fishing in the mountains of SC and NC. Wading, from the bank or in the boat, I try never to miss the opportunity to fish! Wishing all and your families a Merry Christmas
  2. When I was first getting into freshwater fishing, I bought a Berkley Bionix 7' Med rod at Wal-Mart for cheap. It would have been about this same time years ago, because the price was reduced. Tried several reels, the final was a Shimano Spirex 2000. The setup works well with Carolina, drop shot & Texas rigs, small spoons and lures. Caught many Smallies, Spots and LgMth Bass. I finally had to replace the top guide last month, but I am still fishing that combo. I fish it from the bank or on the boat, and it never lets me down.
