Nice 2hrs. on Turee pond last eve.Lots of fishing pressure the last few days particularly along the banks.A friend and I tried a different approach with a split shot rig along the outside weedlines resulting in 6 LMB and several pickerel.

Have had good results recently throwing a 5/16 ounce black/blue swim jig with matching baby craw trailer.Steady retrieve 2-3ft. deep in the water column.

Welcome aboard F-ontheedge.I live 5 min. from Turee and fish there a lot in my boat.You can catch LMB from the boat ramp.I fish from the ramp on windy days like today because Turee can become very rough in wind.I fished off the ramp around noon today and caught 3 LMB on a 5/16 ounce black/blue swimming jig with a Rage Tail baby craw trailer.If the wind abates I'll probably take the boat out this eve.Perhaps I'll see you there.

Nice smallie jaystraw.Out on Turee pond last eve.4 LMB and a bunch of pickerel on wacky rigged senkos.But the highlight of the eve was my little fishing "buddy" a small otter who was tagging along for about 10 min.In retrospect, should have fed him some of the pickerel!

Fished from the boat ramp at Turee pond last eve.Cold and windy.Threw a black spinnerbait with a 4in. black grub trailer.Total length of the lure was around 6in.Caught a LMB that was no longer than 8in.Never ceases to amaze how willing a LMB is to take on a lure that is as large as the fish itself.

Went out on Turee pond last eve.Very windy even after 7pm.Got a little seasick but caught a chunky 15in. LMB on a t-rig itzabug.Fished from the boat ramp today at noon for about 20 min.Very windy but at least I was on shore!Caught 2 small LMB on a red/white Wal-Mart spinnerbait.

Got out on Turee pond at 6pm after the storm blew over.Caught a bunch of pickerel and 3LMB 12-16in. all on t-rigged Stanley itzabug with 1/8 ounce bullet weight in 2-3 fow right on the shoreline.

25lb. king salmon in Skagway Alaska.Not huge for a king but we hooked 3 of them at the same time.What a rush!

I feel your pain.The last 3 LMB I've hooked never made it into the boat.All were hooked on 3 different baits(Stanley itzabug,Fat Ika and Berkley lizard).Funny thing is I felt like I had a good hookset into all of them.

Fun but somewhat frustrating day on Turee pond.C-rig drug across bottom with 1/4 ounce bullet weight and Stanley itzabug.Caught 16 in. LMB near boat ramp.Long but very thin.Pickerel were pretty active and this resulted in frayed line. Too lazy to re-tie.Hooked my largest LMB so far this year.Line gave way when the fish broke the surface.FRUSTRATION.Oh well, lesson learned.

Nice job Waylo.I have some soft plastic swimbaits that have been gathering dust.Based on your recent success I'll give it a try.

Just got back from Turee pond in Bow.Fish are holding deeper. Fished for one hour along shoreline and not one bite.Went out deeper 8-10ft. and dragged a c-rig across the bottom with a Stanley itzabug and caught 6 pickerel and 3LMB.

That was true art Wagn!Now the uninitiated can appreciate what samurai bass fishing is all about.The last martial artist capable of handling numchucks like that was Bruce Lee!

Fishing for pike off a dock with live chub.Left pole unattended for a bit and when I returned saw the pole rattling down the length of the dock right into the water.Never retrieved the pole.

I agree that the cool nights have had an effect.If I go out thurs. will try starting deeper with a c-rig,shakey head,drop shot,or jig.Looks like the weekend weather will be cold and wet.

Just got back from Turee pond in Bow. Appears LMB have moved a bit deeper.Fished the shoreline and caught 11 fish,all pickerel.

Looks like weekends will be our best bet.I'll keep an eye on the weather forcast.Turee is no fun to fish in heavy winds and has been at its best in mid- afternoon after the sun has had a chanch to warm the shoreline.I'll contact you when the conditions look to be favorable for an upcoming weekend.

Unhbass37. Thanks for the prompt response. How about next Tues. the 13th around 430 pm? I will bring my small aluminum boat which we will need to access some of the shoreline where I've had some luck. Plenty of room in the boat for two but bring a life jacket if you have one. I'll be out of town this weekend but call me 774-5023 when you have a moment. Eugene

Very windy.No rain.

Arrived at Turee today just in time for a wind storm. No rain but it was howling.Elected not to put in the row boat but fished from the boat ramp with a small spinnerbait.Caught a 12 in. LMB right in the middle of the storm.Around 6pm the wind abated enough to put in the boat.Went directly to an area that was somewhat protected and fished the spinnerbait. Caught another 12in. LMB and then switched to a Stanley itzabug t-rigged with a small bullet weight and a plastic bead.Caught a chunky 16 in.LMB that fought as hard as any LMB I've ever had the pleasure of hooking.Of the 13 LMB I've caught at Turee this year 1 has been on a 4 in. wacky-rigged Senko,2 on a small spinnerbait,and 10 on the Stanley itzabug.All the LMB have been caught within 5-10 ft. of the shoreline.

As a young teen I fished primarily for crappie on a lake in NW Ohio by trolling minnows on the outside edges of lilypads.One day I saw a big hog roll in the pads no more than 15ft. from the boat.40 yrs. later I can still see the enormous white belly and green sides of that bass which I believe was easily 7lbs. plus.I now live in NH and have recently began fishing again for LMB in ponds.Every time I go out I remember that bass that "hooked" me.
