You will want a sit on top kayak, if you want to stand a wide one will be more stable than a narrower one. Check out models from Ocean Kayak, Hobie Kayak, Malibu Kayak, and Wilderness Kayaks. My best advice to you is to test paddle a few different models before you buy and wear a PFD. Welcome to the wonderful world of kayak fishing 8-)

Been fishing most of my life, mostly trout. Have recently started fishing from a kayak (2yrs.) on nor cal lakes and ocean and love it! Want to start learning and targeting bass in my neck of the woods. Any other Kayak fishermen out there? Tad
