    WOW thats a great question! I've been fishing for more than 50 years and remember when ter local bait shop had only one line (Ande) in about 3 tests. Now there are so many choices it causes posts like this. Well, here's my 2 cents; BRAID - Suffix 832 - good knot strength - good abrasion resistance MONO - Maxma - low memory - good castability - supple FLORO - Yozuri Hybrid - low memory - good castability - good knot strength I also used Suffix Mono, Stren Braid and Suffix Floro but I like the above better.

    8-) Thanks for all the posts, think I'll change the Mono and see what happens with the Floro. The rods have been stored in a cool basement on a rack (no sun / heat) so we'll see. Thanks again to everyone

    Hi all, Last year I spooled all my rods and ended up not using two that now have full spools of Florocarbon and Mono. Are they good for next year? :-[
