  1. I have had absolutely zero luck there this year, but yea there are some good fish in there.
  2. next to the concert venue, i forget what it's called now
  3. definitely agree about Innsbrook, but I have had zero luck there so far this year
  4. got my first bass of the year earlier this week at innsbrook. got her on a spinnerbait
  5. yea i've had a lot of luck across from the little inlet as well. I think you're right about the old creek bed. I seemed to have the best luck at one of the random turns in the path down by the bridge. There must be a drop off around there because there was a week last year where I pulled 3-4 fish a day.
  6. Yea I'm always up for meeting new people and possibly fishing new places.
  7. I agree. I've caught probably 75% of my fish at Lake Rooty in the same 4 spots that have no logical explanation as to why they produce. There's just nothing to target except the water plants in the late summer. It's just a big round lake. I fished there today in the morning and the wind throw my crankbait 20 feet from where I wanted to land it and I got a bite as soon as it hit the water. So it's really hit and miss.
  8. i would love to catch some smallies. any good places to wade?
  9. what's been working for you all at innsbrook? I've been hitting them with shallow crank baits, but I'm looking to try something else.
  10. I pulled a couple 4 pounders out of there in the spring time, but nothing like that since it's gotten hot. I still haven't figured out a good pattern in this summer heat
  11. I've been catching fish at innsbrook recently. They are very tight to the bank right now so everyone should have success there (even though boats aren't allowed)
  12. where in central VA are you? Richmond?
  13. I've had a fair amount of success recently around the area. Only caught a dink at Wilde the other night, but have had a lot of success at Innsbrook this week with a shallow crankbait.
  14. So I've been seeing a lot of bass on beds, but I can't get them to hit anything. Any ideas? I've tried dragging some tubes, senkos, lizards, lipless cranks through the bed, but I can't get them to hit it. I can literally stand over the fish and see them ignoring my bait even when I move away behind a tree or down the bank or whatever. It's cool watching them chase off bluegill but I'd rather them hit my bait hahaha
