Bilgerat I have a 10' jon boat, but the guy who had it before me built a deck on it, so it is very heavy. I also have a nice14' V hull. I bought a plain jon boat with my friend. Used it on the little lakes by my house, car top launches. We kept at his house because he used more than I did. He got divorced, the boat was deemed part of the estate, and I lost the boat. I wish I could find one of those little Crawdads (remember those?). I would keep it at my house! Live and learn, after 50 years you think I would have learned something!

Bilgerat THANKS, ironically I purchased county maps today, my wife will be happy! Thanks again. The water is hard here except by the dam, threw for about an hour, got a nice tug but had to leave. Work always has a a way of screwing up your schedule! I'm going to the fishing expo next week, wonder how much useless stuff I'll buy Thanks Again

Kingbass. Picks are similar to gar but with wider mouths. I think they are primarily a northern fish, but I'm not sure. They are fun to catch. At least once a year I get nailed dehooking the fish and have gotten some nasty cuts, but electric tape and a piece of a shirt work wonders!

Bilgerat, I heard the southern lakes hold picks, any suggestions? Thanks for the tip

Marty I like fishing for Picks, I was hoping somebody could turn me on to a spot. Central NJ lakes are pressured and sometimes tough to fish. Thanks for the reply. What is your favorite pickerel lure. Mine is a Cabelos aqua-glow purple/gold flecked worm. The picks seem to jump at that worm. Stay Warm -my wife's Grandma used to have a cabin on Rice Lake, almost across the lake from you. I loved going there. Eventually I want to try Black Lake, but work gets in the way!
