Avid AC68MXF for Light Jig Casting?
I'm considering the Avid AC68MX rod for casting light jigs (1/4oz to 5/16oz) in clear water. My secondary technique of choice for this rod would be throwing 1/4oz. poppers. Much has been written about this rod among forum members, but it seems to me that it has been touted more for it's versitility than any specific technique. How do you rate this rod for the two techniques of interest--light casting jigs and poppers? Before taking the plunge, I am certainly open to other recommendations.

Loomis Bronzeback J/B Rod
Good points Avid and RW...now that you mention it, this rod should be fine with just about any light treble hook lure. I'll just use another rod for flukes. I'll try it out this weekend and check out the walking action. Thanks guys!

Loomis Bronzeback J/B Rod
I recently purchased a Loomis Bronzeback SMR753 C Jerkbait rod (6'3" Medium-Moderate action). Although I've yet to try it out on the water, I think it will do a great job with jerkbaits--mainly LC 78 Pointers and Flukes. I had this rod in mind for my upcoming smallmouth fishing venture in Manitoba later this month (Winnipeg River). I put a Curado 100D on it this morning, and threw a 1/4 oz. practice plug. Really, really nice! My question for those of you who might be familiar with this rod: should I count on this SMR753 to throw topwater as well? This would be for casts of about 25-30 yards--Zara puppies, sammies, pop-rs, etc.

Eufaula Oklahoma lures
If it's the same company that was at the Tulsa Boat Show last week, I believe it's called "A AND m BAITS". Their web address is www.aandmbaits.com. Phone is 918/689-9221. I bought several bags of their soft baits, but haven't tried them out yet. Their 5" Senko knock-offs cost me $5.00 for a bag of 25.

Chronarch 50Mg Question
Thanks you for the suggestions. You all have given me some good options to consider. This is a good challenge to have...trying to prepare for a Mexico bass fishing trip! Poor me...

Chronarch 50Mg Question
I bought a Chronarch 50mg a month ago and really haven't used it much, so I call on forum members with more experience. In view of the type of fishing I do in Oklahoma, I have no doubt that the reel will suit me just fine. But here's where I need help. I will be going to El Salto in mid-February, and I'm planning on taking the Chronarch 50mg/IMX 843 as one of my three rigs. My guess is that I'll be throwing Senkos and T-Rigs with this rig. All the folks I've talked to about Mexico bass fishing insist that 20# test line is really minimal--especially for worm/jig fishing. Due to it's low line capacity, I really can't see Trilene Big Game as an option. I thought about either using Seaguar 15# (with a relatively small diameter) maybe switching techniques and using say, a 50# braided line for T-Rigs. I would appreciate any suggestions. P.S. My other two rigs I plan to take are Curado 200D's on Falcon Cara rods--H and MH.
