I am new to bass fishing and just bought a bass boat in February. I live close to Lake Buchanan and have been out a few times trying to find black bass with no luck. I guess they have finished spawning because they are not in any of the shallow water coves. Where do they go after the spawn and about how deep should I be looking for them? If anybody fishes this lake, I could really use your feedback.

It is that time of year again when the white bass start their journey up the Colorado river to spawn out of Lake Buchanan. Anyone on this site fish that area? I am going out there next week and was just wondering if the fish have made it up to the state park yet?

I am purchacing a new fish finder and am looking into the Humminbird 798ci si. Does anyone have any personal experience with this unit? My main concern is the side imaging and the size of the screen. I have heard that the 5" display is too small to really take advantage of the great detail provided by the side imaging. Any feedback would be great. If I dont go with this unit, I am thinking about the 788ci. Feedback on that unit would also be helpful.
