  1. Nice fish! If you don't mind me asking what park did you go fishing?
  2. That was a pretty cool read. 8-)
  3. Thanks for the feedback. I'm really going to give it a shot because I've been losing too many yum money minnows from what seem simple tears to fix and I can't afford to keep buying bag after bag at $10 a pop.
  4. I was investigating how the Wacky Rig works and ran into this product called Mend-It by accident really. I primarily fish soft swim baits like the yum money minnow but as many of you know they tear pretty easily and they aren't cheap. Was wondering if any of you guys tried it because I think it would save money big time if it works like they say. Grabbed this from the Q&A from there site. "First of all, Mend-It! is not a glue! Mend-It! simply re-catalyzes the plastic. Mend-It! does not leave hard spots in your bait like super-glues do, Mend-It! keeps your baits soft and natural as if they were new again. Mend-It! doesn't stick to your fingers, only to your soft plastic baits. Mend-It! leaves no residue at all and most repairs are invisible!" http://www.menditglue.com/
  5. That's awesome man! Congrats to the little guy.
  6. Very nice fish indeed. That lake looks beautiful also!
  7. I went to that lake on the east side where 178th spilts it and fished from the bank in the park on 172nd and Sheridan and didn't have much luck finding any bass but I did pull in two huge oscars which gave me a peacock type of fight. lol! Never caught one on an artificial so I was rather excited. Next on my list is to find out what the heck those carps will bite on because there are some monsters in there. lol!
  8. I will definitely vouch for that statement bro. Peacocks are vicious!!! ;D
  9. I know they have boat rentals there on the weekend which kind of sux since I go on the weekdays they are open. I would give them a call and see if you can bring your jon boat because I can't recall the many times the bass are blowing up on the baitfish and are usually out of reach from casts from the shoreline. Nearly 35 fish in 4 hours!!! Man that is insanity. lol! What were you catching them on?
  10. Me and my best friend went over to Tree Tops Park here in Broward on Monday and had a blast! Here are a couple pics of the biggest bass we pulled in. I pulled in six with the largest weighing in a little over 4lbs and had my gamakatsu 3.0 bait hook simply straightened out on one that got away. Guess that was the 10lber. : lol! My friend pulled in eight with the largest weighing 3.5lbs which brought the total to 14 quality bass for just a half day worth of fishing. Not a bad day indeed! ;D
  11. Would love to try that place out sometime. Can you PM the location pleeeeease. I'm a catch and release fisherman only so no worries.
  12. Very nice catch! I been hunting for that type of peacock but all I seem to catch is LM now. =)
  13. Is this Lake Jackson in Tallahassee, FL?
  14. Pulled in and weighed this 5.5lb beauty at a park (Tree Tops Park) located in Davie, FL for those in my area wanting to try out there luck. Since it is strictly a catch and release lake I'm betting there are plenty more and you can bet I will be back there again and again. ;D
  15. I've been out in the sawgrass flats and definitely agree it is a blast! Do you primarily fish those monster worms on top to mimic a snake moving across the surface? Things are huge!
  16. Very Rough indeed. The buzzards didn't mind at all though. ;D
  17. I'm starting seing them also SoFlaBassAddict and even caught a couple at the boater's park on Pembroke Rd. and 178th even though they were no more than 2 Lbs was still a hell of a fight. Speaking of huge fish I wish I could get the picture of the peacock I caught last year off my broken cell phone as it was easily in the 6.5 - 7.5 Lb range. Here is the bink map where I landed the monster from and since I caught and released it nearly 9 months ago and hoping no one did the opposite there is an even bigger monster in that lake now. http://www.bing.com/maps/explore/#/25xghtlf9st2tj3w
  18. I hate to see fish caught and not released but it bugs the heck out me to no end when they are plucking fish off there beds and not putting them back. I swear I've been tempted to run over and grab there buckets and dump everything back but then I know that's asking for trouble.
  19. good point. though the first pics didnt turn out that great/detailed because of the sun , im starting to see differences too. just means theres more big fish in that lake ;D btw , which scale do you own? I believe it's the 25# Tube Scale by Rapala.
  20. I actually went over there this morning after dropping off the little ones at there school (Silver Lakes Elementary) and man the water is really a lot higher than usual from all that rain. Didn't see anything promising so I moved on to another place. Wish I had seen this post earlier in the day because I could've helped ya get that boat in the water. Got family coming tomorrow and staying until Sunday so probably be tied up until next week unfortunately but thanks for the invite. Glad you got into them today I actually caught a 3.5# bass and a couple smaller ones today myself even though I only had only an hour to fish but I now know my Yum Money Minnow is a killer though.
  21. I think I know where your talking about and if so been fishing around many different areas of the lake from land since I don't own a boat unfortunately. Before the cold snap the peacocks were on fire there and I imagine with such a huge body of water they will make a comeback sooner than later. I have also seen some pretty nice size largemouth there aswell. There is a little bridge which actually is 178th where you can get to the east part of the lake I believe and there is a lot of lily pads there that I often dreamed of fishing. d**n I need to get a boat. lol!
  22. Which lake you thinking about in Silver Lakes? I can't wait to cast this 3.5" Tennessee Shad color Yum Money Minnow I got at BPS on Sunday. Looks like a killer!
  23. Congrats again bro but honestly it might just be a different fish. The first catch doesn't seem to have that dark circular birth mark like the second pic does right below the lip. Wish I was out there we could have weighed that big mofo. lol!
  24. Really happy to hear about the Peacock bite man. I haven't even seen one since that cold came through. I been meaning to try out this park again between Miramar and Pembroke Rd. on 178th where I've caught a fair share of 3-4# Peacocks from but you can't park there without the harassing and have to park near the baseball fields near Silver Lakes Elementary and then a not very pleasant walk if your carrying a big tackle box and more than one rod.
  25. I caught a couple 1-2# bass off a 3" Live Kickin Shad by Storm but the wind was just too darn miserable to continue.
