I went yesterday as well and pretty much had my butt handed to me. Launched at 701 and headed straight across the lake and drifted that huge flaton the main lake and caught a 2 1/2lber in the first 15 minutes and then got nothing but a pickerel the rest of the day. I had no electronics and no way to know the water temps anywhere I was fishing. I found out what the water temps were when back at the ramp and wish I had,ve focused on a little bit deeper water. Oh well ya win some and lose some. Think I will take my bass boat out there next time instead of the jon. Got beat to death in the wind and couldnt hold the jon on anything I wanted to thoroughly fish. Hard to really concentrate on fishing when you"re frustrated from trying to hold the boat in position >

I am headed out there for the first time in 15 years on Thursday, Lord willing, and was wondering if anyone could give me a general idea of what stages the fish are in now. I have done a little topo research and aerial studay and have decided to launch from the 701 ramp. I figured I would key on a couple of flats that appear to have deep water nearby. I also figured I would work my way up and down the road bed as well. Any other suggestions? Not looking for specific spots as I understand if you wanna catch good ones you need to put in the time. Just looking for a little guidance in the general right direction. s13 and wayne did you guys do any good last week? Thanks fellas

Excellent job Simon!!!!!!!!! You guys are getting me fired up to get out and hook a couple! I was outside today workin and all I could think about is how bad I wanted to fish in that beautiful weather....windy or not!

thats cool man. I live about 5 miles from ya. Do you do much fishing around here. I just moved back here from Oklahoma this past year and havent had a chance to get out much yet.
