  1. Well the only main saltwater fishing I would be doing would be around Venice or Vero Beach
  2. try topwater or a bigger spinnerbait
  3. Alright thanks, well let me fill in some of the blanks for you: the budget, we don't really know but something relatively on the cheaper side of the market. i'd like to be able to use the boat both for freshwater lakes and some saltwater rivers or inshore fishing and as for the people i think 3 as a maximum would be nice. we already have the vehicle situation figuered out, we just need to get a hitch.
  4. Hey, my dad and I are thinking about getting our first boat in a few months! But neither of us know all that much about it. We were thinking of a 14' Jon boat with a 25hp mercury 4-stroke, but is that too much power? and all of that plus a trailer and insurance... how much are we expecting to spend? We just want something low maitnense and can be used for freshwater AND saltwater. Please feel free to help us make the right decisions.
  5. About twice a week or so here, but if I could, i'd do it a LOT more.
  6. I just recently went to wal-mart and i may have found what could been a great deal. it's a luck e strike senko kit; 5 gray. 5 green w/ black flakes, green with red flakes, and 2 other colors plus some hooks and sinkers. it's only about $4 but can you tell me if it's worth the purchase or not? also one more thing; what's your input on live lizards- if i were to hook them like at the leg or something.
  7. i'm going to continue using the senkos, but the ones i have seem too long and narrow; i've always heard of senkos being real cigar-like but i've yet to find them at wal-mart. i do have some of those brush hogs though, they're a green and orange color, no flakes about 3 inches. and i did catch about a 3 1/2 lb. bass on a spinner bait about a month ago there, but it hasn't produced any fish since then.
  8. ??? ??? and that is...
  9. I still don't know what a super hog is, but thanks for the tips on senkos!!! that next weekend i tried one and although i didn't produce a bass, a got a pretty good bite on it; took half the worm off. I was thinking if there was any particular type of hook you use for this??
  10. what's a super hog? are they those pork trailers, because i heard from somewhere you can just cut up a piece of leather like so and that'll work too, but i don't know if that's all true or not.
  11. Thanks, i'll definitel look into the senko's.-- Jaime
  12. also one more thing, i went on a website and looked it up but i still can't figuer it out, but what is wacky rigged?
  13. thanks everyone for the tips, i'll try the senko's next time since that seems to be the most popular among you all. Basser89, as for the pond, i would say it's about an acre and a half; pretty small, and at the deepest maybe 25-30 feet or so. It's a bit overflooded but its starting to dry up and theres a fallen tree in the water for about 8 months now. It also has a lot of rocks here and there, and theres a little curve with lots of trees and whatnot, but it's almost impossible to get to. Kana, there are some other anglers, but usually it's just me and maybe one other person fishing the pond.
  14. I'm having trouble figuering out what to use in a little pond for bass around this time of year, around 12 to 3 and 4 to 5pm. any ideas??
