  1. Wow!!! I can't believe what I am reading!!!! I got a new job last year HQ'd in WA. I am in PA. So I did a little research on bass fishing in WA, as I would like to have something fun to do on my off time during a visit. Potholes Reservoir and The Columbia River made the top 100 Bass Fishing Lakes for 2014 as ranked by BASS. Lake Washington has good stuff written about it as well. In reading this topic. I am in SHOCK!!!! You have horrible representation in the government. But we all know the $$$$$ has great power. I don't get their beef about bass. Example - The "Smith" family, from another state, is looking at vacation possibilities. Mr or Mrs or both love bass fishing. So they plan vacations around places they've never been to for bass fishing. "Gee honey, look at Washington! They've got some great bass fisheries, LM & SM!!!! And the state is doing everything they can to make sure that bas fishing is top notch!!!" Cha ching, cha ching!!!! Revenue, brought in from the "Evil" sport of bass fishing! Shoot, I have been on many a family vacation where me having access to good bass fishing is part of the deal. Your "leaders" need to wake up and smell the coffee! Or maybe they don't drink coffee that is not a native plant to Washington. Well whatever, they need to wake up. Based on the ones that I have met, bass fishermen are good, down to earth people who care about the environment. I wish all of you bass fishermen in WA the best of luck.
  2. I started taking my daughters fishing when they were 7 & 5. The youngest one likes it. She is now 10. She is learning bass fishing (we also catch pickerel) and using lures. We fish the local lakes in a canoe - with stabilizers on it. We also do some shore fishing at a local stream and river. I let her reel in any fish that I hook up with. It nice to have a fishing buddy. I hope she stays with it.
