i have a rod with mono and one with braided. A uni-knot is suggested for braided. How well would a nail knot do with the braided? I tied some just for practice and it seems to work nicely. The reason I say a nail knot is because I just found my Tie-Fast tool from my fly fishing days. I had to go to the all mighty Youtube to get a refresher on how to use the tool. It said you could use a nail knot for lots of applications. So what do you think?

I am converting my 8 and 5 year olds to lures this year. I am tired of spending my fishing time putting worms on. So I have helped them stock their tackle boxes with lures for this season. The only thing I forsee as being a problem is wanting to change lures every two minutes because they didnt catch anything. So at BPS I bought these No Knot Fas-snap things. Has anyone ever used them. I did a quick try in the house just to see how quick it is. It will save time and line over tying knots every time. Any one ever used any other types. Thanks. By the way we will be fishing mostly Lake st. Clair for Smallies.

I was checking my crank bait inventory. I have a good selection of rattle traps and husky jerks and x raps. But I am lacking in other types. The problem is I just hate spending $8 and up on a Rapala crank. That is just a lot of money. It isnt that I cant afford it. It just seems alot to me. So has any one used the X raps and Husky Jerks with a straight retrieve like a minnow Rap? I have used them with great luck as jerk baits but not with straight retrieve. If I did go out and get some different types of cranks what brands and colors are go to. I fish Lake St. Clair mostly in Michigan. It is not very deep ther for the most part. thanks for any help.
