absolutely.
I use a long shank bronze hook exposed on weightless worms about 100% of my worm fishing.
I normally use a ball head jig with a grub, but I'm considereing using the long shank with a weightless grub too and if I need weight perhaps a split shot. I'm anxious to try this technique this season.
I fish mainly in the lower shenandoah river while wet wading
Rod: 7' light action Shakespeare graphite
Reel: old Shimano Mark II spinning reel
Line: 6# clear blue Stren
I wade exclusively and use light lures/baits.
I'm with you on that. Organizing my gear helps me get pumped for the coming season and to reflect on what tactics I'll use.
I'm exclusively a stream angler for trout and SMB. I carry a green canvas creel with all my gear,so space is at a premium. I like to move fast and often trying to get to places that are not hit hard by casual anglers.
All my SMB and trout stuff needs to fit into the green bag so I have to choose carefully.
You can see by my screen name where I live.
I fish streams such as the Shenandoah, Potomac, Conococheague and others.
I'm exclusively a stream angler searching for trout and SMB and fish from the bank, wet wade or dry wade. thanks for reading......
