  1. Speaking of not knowing what you are talking about. Well, I don't want to be in a ticking match, been around lots of HP boats in my time and I know what your are saying about the pad. Say, how did you see under your boat while going down the lake? ??? I still say there is more boat in the water than you think. Probably less than the 24 ''s I said earlier though. The spray fans out from the pad and that's all that needs to touch the tabs. They do not slow the boat down. Neither of use will back down on this so I'll bail.
  2. I'm guessing that you would want anywhere from a 22-26P in a stainless, about a 15" diameter. It all depend on your set-up.
  3. OK smarty pants, we know they run on the pad, ::)but you can't tell me that the boat is just on the last 24"'s of the pad, very close, but not just the pad. Beleive me those tabs are twice as good as a foil, and they will eliminate chinewalk on any Bass boat right where they are because they adjust down by themselves when they get more and more out of the water thus keeping in touch just enough to stablize the boat.
  4. Let us know what king of a rig you have and maybe we can help you out as far as pitch. I buy props off Ebay all the time, great prices.
  5. I would only recommend those things for your application, they will work for what you want them to do. However, i wouldn't have one on a Bass Boat. This is what you need on a Bass boat. Awesome holeshot, (In fact there is no hole), No chinewalk, no reduction in speed, may actually improve, and no back wash when you chop the throttle too fast. They are called Nauticus Smart Tabs and are self adjusting once you get them set.
  6. It's really not necesary, but you would notice the difference in towing if you had them. Everything in and on the boat will ride much better than with the constant bouncing. Lots of travel trailers are offering them now.
  7. Hey, I did that also. I almost peed my pants laughing about it later. It was fun and sad all at the same time. It was mostly my fault, There was this cat on a ramp that went down to the dock I was fishing, I had a jig a pig tied on. I flipped the jig up onto the dock to see if the cat would come down the ramp. Well he did, and the jig was caught on a sliver or something, and the cat grabbed it before I could pull it away. He grabbed it and went for the ramp, I free spooled it hoping he would let go of it but he headed for the house. I flipped the reel in and the fight was on. I dragged him screaming and clawing all the way down the ramp and on to the dock. I had to wrap him in my coat to get the hook out. God I'm glad the people that owned him didn't hear or see what happened, I would have been sued for sure.
  8. Likewise, great reading. The only thing I would like people to interject when talking fall and winter fishing is water temp. Even the TV shows seem to not mention temp. I want to know what the water temp is when they are catching fish in different locations and depths and times of the year.
  9. Being somewhat of an oil freek over the years, here is my take. Over the counter "SYNTHETIC" gear lubes, (Any of them). will work just fine, but I like Amsoil. DO NOT USE Regular everyday standard automotive gear lubes though as they will foam too much. Also, a good tip: Go to you local auto parts store, I know NAPA has them, and buy a rubber air hose tip and addapt it to your pump, they don't leak a drop, then follow the above advice.
  10. I'm gonna take crap for posting this, but here goes. I get tired of people telling others that if there boat chinewalks that "They can just drive through it"! BS, That's a great way to get yourself killed. If your boat chinewalks, there is a problem somewhere. Normally the engine is too low, but there are other reasons for it. Props make a difference also. No bass boat should chinewalk if it's set up right.
  11. Good question: I guide on my home lake, I do not fish any tournaments. I do not fish on an average, I normally don't have time anyway. Only time I fish is if I am trying to teach a new technique ot trying to find fish if it's tough. A good gift of gab is absolutly necesary. Sometimes if we are fishing an open area I have actually been invited to fish by the client, even then I will try new things and not fish in front of or with the same thing he is fishing with.
  12. I have found some very good knock-off's on Ebay. You have to try them all and then use the guy you like the best. Anyone ever try these? He calls them a "Ripper". They are a hand pour and about 4 1/2 inches long. Great for Drop shottin.
  13. Yep, No other battery gets in my boat! Wait a minute, isn't that someones elses line? :
